Avery Styles is now officially part of TNA. The son of the company legend AJ Styles made his debut for the company at the TNA Lockdown event, held on Sunday in Chicago, and took advantage of his first appearance to announce that he has signed with the promotion. Presented to the audience as "The Phenomenal Son," Avery takes an important step in the early months of his career as a professional wrestler, now under the umbrella of the company with which his father achieved historic status.
The presentation was interrupted by Frankie Kazarian, who recalled the importance of names like himself, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels in the building of TNA. Kazarian pointed out that the locker room is full of "snakes," although he assured Avery that he could always count on him. The segment left open the possibility that their relationship could continue on television, especially after Kazarian offered himself as a trusted figure for the newcomer.
TNA had announced just a day before Lockdown that Avery Styles would make his first appearance for the company, although it did not reveal what role he would have in the event or that the signing would take place. Avery made his professional wrestling debut in June and has since competed in several matches, including appearances for Game Changer Wrestling.
Indeed, one of his appearances in GCW sparked controversy shortly after it happened. Producer Arik Cannon publicly criticized Avery for not helping to pick up the chairs, leading to a debate on social media about the responsibilities of young wrestlers in independent shows. The conversation even included opinions from figures like Cody Rhodes and Paul Wight. Now, with his official arrival at TNA, Avery Styles begins a new stage with greater exposure and the weight of continuing a surname closely linked to the history of the company.
