Lady Maravilla is no longer part of the roster of Lucha Libre AAA, as we have learned today. The former member of Las Tóxicas confirmed her departure from the company, revealing that she will continue competing in the independent scene. Her first match will take place on September 16 for the FDB Wrestling promotion.
Originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Lady Maravilla burst onto the professional wrestling scene in 2009. After several years on the independent circuit, the wrestler was signed by AAA, making her debut at Héroes Inmortales IX (2015), where she competed for the Reina de Reinas Championship. In 2017, she switched to CMLL, but her stay was very brief, returning to AAA just a year later.
Her second stint in 2018 led her to win the Mixed Tag Team World Championship alongside Villano III Jr., beginning a reign that lasted for 800 days. This is also the only title she has won in the company. In 2021, Lady Maravilla joined Flammer and La Hiedra to form Las Tóxicas, one of the most prominent heel factions in the company.
The faction remained unchanged after AAA was acquired by WWE. However, it is true that Lady Maravilla was barely used in the company's television programming. On the other hand, her teammates enjoyed much more solo spotlight. Although she has remained active in the ring, Lady Maravilla only participated in two televised matches in this new AAA era under the WWE umbrella.
