Tonight we will once again enjoy a new live coverage of WWE SmackDown, which this time will be broadcasted on tape delay from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The show will feature several attractions, highlighting Jacy Jayne's first defense as United States Champion.
In addition, Tatum Paxley will make her in-ring debut on the blue brand in a singles match against Michin. On the other hand, Kevin Owens and CM Punk will be back on the show after the chaotic ending of their title match last week. Kevin Owens is in charge of opening the show. "KO! KO!" chant the fans to welcome him. The Canadian takes a microphone to address the audience. Owens acknowledges that this is not how he expected to return to Ottawa. Kevin recalls that he has lost many matches in WWE, but none of those defeats were as painful as the one from last Friday. Kevin assures that last week was the perfect moment. He had just returned to action after 17 months out due to injury. He did it in record time to be able to participate in SummerSlam and win the title shot that would allow him to compete for the WWE Undisputed Championship in Canada, in front of his compatriots, friends, and family.
Owens recalls that the last time he competed for a title, his mother couldn't attend due to health reasons. While he fought in the ring, she fought for her life. Fortunately, she overcame that setback. And, even though she has trouble getting around, both she and his father got in the car to travel from Montreal to Toronto to be with him on a night that was supposed to be magical. But Sami Zayn took care of ruining everything. "Sami and I have done many really horrible things to each other throughout our careers. I'm not innocent either. I've done many things. But this time... Man, I can't forget it", he says. Owens not only regrets that Sami prevented him from becoming champion on the most perfect day of his career, but also that he was deprived of taking his revenge on CM Punk. Kevin points out that he will deal with Zayn in due time because he still has unfinished business with "The Best in the World". Owens addresses the champion directly to make it clear that he had the victory in the palm of his hand. They both know it, as does the whole world. "You were lucky and took advantage of Sami Zayn's actions. But have one thing very clear, Punk. If you think this is over, you are very wrong. We have only just begun. I won't stop until I snatch that title from you", says the Canadian.
"No one has asked for my opinion on whether we are finished or not", says CM Punk from the entrance ramp. "The Best in the World" heads to the ring. Nick Aldis quickly appears to prevent the champion from entering the ring. CM Punk makes it clear that he doesn't need Sami to defeat Owens. In fact, he had him practically beaten after hitting him with a GTS. "The Best in the World" has no problem facing him again tonight, so he asks Aldis to make it official. Suddenly...
Gunther interrupts the segment!
"The Ring General" wants this conversation to end once and for all before his ears start bleeding. The Austrian has paid attention to this enmity, and now understands why CM Punk and Owens hate each other so much. The reason is that when they look at each other, they see their own arrogance and "that unbearable and arrogant self". "While you are here arguing about things that happened 20 years ago, I am here to remind you what matters now", says the Austrian. "Hey, Kevin. I'm glad your mother pulled through. But what a shame that on Friday you didn't. As for CM Punk..."
¡Finn Bálor interrupts the Austrian!
Finn believes that someone is being forgotten. "Ladies and gentlemen! Look at that! The shadow of Finn Bálor has just arrived!", exclaims Gunther to mock the Irishman. He tells the Austrian to be quiet. After that, he reminds both Gunther and Owens that they have already had their chance for the WWE Undisputed Championship, and both have failed. So, as far as he is concerned, the line of challengers starts now right behind him. Aldis decides he has heard enough. To settle the matter, he announces a triple threat between Kevin, Finn, and Gunther for the main event of the night. The winner will receive a shot at the top title. The three men accept the proposal. And so we reach the end of the first segment of the night.
We see Chelsea Green holding a protective mask in her hands. Tiffany Stratton approaches the Canadian to ask her if she is sure she wants to compete tonight. Stratton knows her health is delicate and the last thing she wants is for her injury to worsen, especially considering that Green must defend the WWE Interim Championship within 30 days. Chelsea reminds her that they have been through a lot together and she is not willing to leave her to her own devices tonight. Green asks her partner to go ahead while she finishes getting ready. Stratton leaves to end the segment.
Tag Team Match The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) vs. Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton
Stratton and Legend start the fight. Lash dodges a dropkick to catch Stratton from behind. Tiffany frees herself to surprise Lash with a direct dropkick to the back. After that, she executes a rope hip attack. Stratton looks for momentum for her next attack, but her opponent stops her to respond with a spinning backbreaker. 1..2..NO.
Stratton escapes from her opponent's clutches to surprise her with a handspring cutter. Chelsea tags in to finish off Legend with a neckbreaker. Lash reaches her corner to tag in Nia. Stratton and Green take down Jax with a synchronized dropkick. The Canadian continues to hit Nia. She stops her offensive with a headbutt that hits the face of the United States Champion, who writhes in pain. The referee approaches her to check her condition, at which point we reach a commercial break.
Back we see Lash taking down Stratton with a chokeslam. 1..2..NO. Chelsea interrupts the count. Jax hits Green in the face, who must be attended to by the medical team at ringside. Meanwhile, Legend catches Tiffany in a bear hug. Stratton frees herself, only to be taken down with a clothesline. 1..2..NO. Nia receives the tag to continue punishing Stratton, whom she crushes in one of the corners.
Tiffany tries to recover, but Jax takes her down with a clothesline. 1..2..NO. Nia tags in Lash, who catches Stratton in a bear hug. Jax dives with a diving legdrop. Tiffany stands over Legend to avoid the impact of Nia, who lands with her backside on the canvas. Stratton surprises Lash with an inverted DDT. After that, she crawls to her corner, but doesn't find Chelsea, who is being taken backstage. The Canadian turns around to realize that Tiffany is in trouble. Green doesn't take long to run to the ring to tag in.
Chelsea jumps with a Missile Dropkick on Nia. After that, she prevents Legend from returning to the ring. Green throws Jax out of the ring before launching with a diving crossbody. "Chelsea! Chelsea!" chant the fans. The Canadian brings Nia back into the ring. Lash tries to intervene, but Green doesn't allow it. Tiffany jumps on Legend with the intention of applying a hurricanrana. However, Lash stops her in mid-air to throw her against the public barrier. Green gets distracted, a moment that Nia takes advantage of to hit her directly in the face. Nia executes a samoan drop on the Canadian, followed by an Annihilation. 1..2..3.
Winners: The Irresistible Forces
We move to Nick Aldis's office, where he is visited by Danhausen. The British man asks him what he can do for him. Danhausen congratulates Aldis on his work as General Manager before suggesting that he appoint him as "employee of the month" on SmackDown. At that moment, Gunther appears on the scene. Danhausen tries to shake hands with the Austrian, but he ignores him. "The Ring General" asks Nick about his decision to schedule a triple threat for tonight. Aldis asks him if he has any objections. Gunther assures him that he doesn't, although he doesn't think it's right for him to have to prove that he deserves an opportunity against Kevin Owens and the "ghost of Finn Bálor". Nick thanks him for his comment and also assures him that there will be no more surprises about it. The match will be a triple threat and that won't change. Gunther points out that it will be. The Austrian leaves. Danhausen asks Aldis about the "ghost" Gunther mentioned. Nick points out that it's just a figure of speech. Danhausen then asks if he can be included in tonight's main event. "No," the British man replies. "Oh, okay," says Danhausen before leaving.
Match for the United States Women's Championship Jacy Jayne (c) (with Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) vs. Paige
Both women observe each other before starting the match. Jacy approaches her partners to plan a strategy. The fans boo them. Furious, Jayne orders them to be quiet. Jacy grabs Paige by the hair to slam her against the canvas. After that, she applies a senton. "That's why I'm the champion!", exclaims Jacy to mock the audience. Paige dodges a second senton to respond with a superkick. "This is my house!", shouts the British woman before hitting the champion with a headbutt.
Paige takes Jacy to the ropes to unleash a flurry of knee strikes. Jayne ends up at ringside, where she receives the impact of a cannonball. Paige brings her rival back into the ring, where the referee quickly attends to her. "¡This is my house!", Paige shouts again. She turns around to find Lainey's boot in her face. A satisfied Reid returns with Henley to a loud boo. Fatal Influence pose over the British woman as we reach another commercial break.
Back we see Jacy catching Paige in a submission hold. The British woman frees herself to fall mutually with the champion with a clothesline in unison. Paige and Jayne exchange attacks in the center of the ring. The champion takes down Paige with an enzuigiri. The British woman quickly responds. Paige applies a release german suplex on Jayne before finishing her off with a Knight Cap. 1..2..NO.
Paige stands Jayne up, only for her to hit her with a superkick. Paige surprises the champion with a headbutt before preparing her for a Rampaige. Lainey climbs onto the apron to get the British woman's attention. She throws Jayne against the ropes to make Reid fall onto the canvas. After that, she kicks Fallon (who is also trying to distract her) on the opposite side of the ring. Paige returns for Jacy, a moment she takes advantage of to surprise her with a roll-up. 1..2..3.
Winner and STILL United States Champion: Jacy Jayne
Fatal Influence celebrates the victory at ringside when Nikki Bella bursts into the ring to launch an assault on Paige. Bella takes down the British woman with a spear before stomping on her on the canvas. The fans boo her. Nikki finishes off Paige with a Rack Attack 2.0. Once satisfied, Bella leaves the ring to end this segment.
We see a video recap of what happened last week between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
Finn Bálor approaches Cody Rhodes backstage. "Everything okay?", asks the Irishman as he shakes hands with "The American Nightmare". "I wish it were," Rhodes replies. He wishes he didn't have to deal with Randy Orton and be focused on his main goal, which is to regain the WWE Undisputed Championship. But everything has become complicated due to the stipulation dictated by Nick Aldis, as if he lays a hand on "The Viper", he can never compete for the title again. "I don't know what to say or do. What do you think?", Rhodes asks Bálor. He advises him to stay calm tonight. Orton will try to provoke him. He's sure of that. But he can't let "The Viper" drag him down a dark path (one he has already traveled). Finn asks him not to do anything he might regret later. Also, he shouldn't worry about the championship either. The Irishman will win a shot at the gold tonight. And once Cody has finished his story with Orton, there will be a new WWE Undisputed Champion. "Take care of your business. I'll take care of mine. And let's meet on the other side later", says Bálor. "I'll see you on the other side," replies Cody as he shakes hands with the Irishman. "Good luck, man," says Finn before leaving. And so we reach the end of this segment.
Trick Williams approaches Lil Yachty backstage to talk about his match against Baron Corbin on Sunday Night's Main Event. Williams points out that, besides being bald and ugly, Corbin is also a fierce opponent in the ring. A real monster. So he will go talk to Nick Aldis to cancel the match. Yachty refuses. The rapper reminds his friend that Baron not only took away the United States Championship from him but also disrespected him. That's why he won't back down. In addition, Yachty is convinced that he will do what everyone thinks is impossible: he will survive five minutes in the ring against Corbin, so Williams must be prepared to face him next and finally regain the belt. Yachty doesn't want to waste any more time and suggests to Trick that he help him train in the gym. Williams asks him to go ahead while he puts on the right clothes. Trick turns around to face Baron Corbin. "You know why I don't have friends here, Trick? Because they lead you to do stupid things. And now I'm going to kick his ass (Whoop that Trick)," says Corbin as he points in the direction Yachty left. "We've heard that before," replies a smiling Williams. "Look, I don't have to be entertaining. I'm the champion," says Corbin as he shows him the title. "The Lone Wolf" leaves to end the segment.
Cody Rhodes makes his entrance into the ring. The fans greet him with a huge ovation. "Well, Ottawa, what do you want to talk about?" he asks. Rhodes wants to talk about Randy Orton. A man who has been obsessed with the number fifteen since WrestleMania 42. Cody believes Randy could have been the man to set a new record, but there is a problem with that: every time "The Viper" gets on the right path toward achieving that goal, he himself manages to screw everything up. Everyone backstage knows it, but Orton always finds an excuse to justify it, to say that it wasn't his fault. "Randy, I was there. I saw it firsthand on several occasions when other guys got fired. You were only given a slap on the wrist. You were given second chances. And you were never able to take responsibility for your own actions," he says. Now, Orton has screwed things up once again by standing in Cody's way on his path toward the most important championship in this company. "At Sunday Night's Main Event, it won't be Cody defeating Randy Orton. It will be Cody murdering The Legend..." he says before...
Randy Orton interrupts the segment!
Orton makes his way to the ring, where he asks for a microphone. Randy stands face-to-face with Rhodes. "Responsibility? You want to talk about responsibility? It's true. In the early years of my career, I lacked responsibility. I made bad decisions, one after another. You're right. You had a front-row seat," Orton says. "In fact, you had a driver's seat, because I needed someone to drive me," "The Viper" continues, recalling the time when Rhodes became something of a chauffeur for him. Randy believes Cody isn't happy about that period of his life. Maybe he would even like to get back at him by punching him. Orton moves his face closer to Rhodes, but Rhodes doesn't fall into his trap.
Randy doesn't give up, so he now reminds him of the ending of their match at WrestleMania 42, where he kicked him in the head, as well as what happened at SummerSlam, where he cost him the Undisputed WWE Championship. Orton reiterates that he will do whatever it takes to make sure Cody never holds a world title in this company again. "Has that pissed you off a little? Do you feel like throwing a punch?" Randy asks. Cody remains silent. "What's wrong, Cody? Cat got your tongue? No, no, no. You're more of a dog person, right? What was your dog's name? Pharaoh. You used to bring him backstage. Everybody would be so excited. Such a fluffy, cool dog. Did that dog die? Is he dead? Did your daughters have to bury that dog deep down in your cemetery in Atlanta?" Randy asks before reminding him that Atlanta will be the city where the two of them face each other at Sunday Night's Main Event. Visibly annoyed, Cody takes off his jacket. "The Viper" keeps provoking him. Randy promises that he will kick him in the head again, this time in front of all his friends and family. And, speaking of family, he wonders if his "trailer park trash mother" will be sitting in the front row. Orton points directly at his chin, but Rhodes resists the urge to hit him. Randy decides to take things even further. "And what about the trashy ass wife of yours? Will she be there?" "The Viper" asks. He spreads his arms, waiting for Cody to hit him. But that doesn't happen.
Rhodes takes the floor to make it clear that he came out there knowing exactly what Orton would try to do. And he understands it, because the fact is that "The Viper" doesn't want to face him at Sunday Night's Main Event. Once again, Orton is trying to take a shortcut, but he won't get away with it. Cody assures him that nothing will prevent the two of them from facing each other on September 6. "I'm counting down the days until Atlanta. I'm counting down the days until Sunday Night's Main Event, where we'll find out whether you're truly a once-in-a-generation superstar, like my father was, or whether you're a first-class mess, like yours was," Rhodes says. Orton becomes furious. "You want to hit me? Looks like you want to hit me," a smiling Cody says. "You've crossed the line!" "The Viper" exclaims. "I'll see you in Atlanta," Rhodes says before turning his back on his enemy. Cody gets out of the ring and heads back toward backstage. Meanwhile, Randy continues berating him from the ring.
Jackie Redmond interviews Tatum Paxley backstage. Paxley says she is ready for her debut tonight. In fact, she has a few ideas about it. Tatum leans toward Jackie's ear to reveal one of those ideas. Redmond quickly leaves the area, visibly nervous after hearing Paxley's words. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss appear on the scene. Tatum approaches them to thank them for the fun brunch last weekend. However, she also wants to apologize for the whole blood situation. Flair suggests that maybe three was a crowd. "But you know you have to deal with it," Alexa mutters to her partner. Bliss informs Paxley that Nick Aldis has scheduled a tag team match for Sunday Night's Main Event. The match will see them face Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab. Tatum is happy to hear that, as it will be the first time she teams up with them. Paxley high-fives Charlotte. "Please don't make me regret defending you. Tonight, you have the opportunity to show me—I mean, show everyone what you can do," "The Queen" says. Alexa adds that both of them will accompany her tonight. Paxley thanks Charlotte for the gesture with a hug, but once again, Charlotte remains motionless. Tatum heads toward the ring, pointing out that she'll see them out there. Flair tries to say something to Bliss, but she refuses to listen. "No, no. Be nice," Alexa says.
Byron Saxton interviews Rey Fenix backstage. Saxton asks Fenix how he feels ahead of the final of the wrestlers' tournament, where he will face Penta. The masked wrestler says he loves his brother, but he will have to defeat him if he wants to return to Mexico with a title opportunity in hand. Ricky Saints interrupts the interview to mock the Mexican. "The Absolute" is convinced that Fenix will lose the tournament final and then return to SmackDown with his tail between his legs. By then, he hopes Fenix will finally stop avoiding him and grant him a match for the AAA Cruiserweight World Championship. "You're so funny. Let me tell you a story. I win the tournament. I win the World Heavyweight Championship. And I return to SmackDown to shut your mouth. You don't have what it takes to be a champion," Rey says before walking away.
Tatum Paxley (with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss) vs. Michin (with Jade Cargill and B-Fab)
Michin slaps Paxley before catching her from behind. Tatum uses her great agility to escape her opponent with a graceful move. Michin sends her opponent out of the ring. She then kicks her with a Penalty Kick. Michin brings her back inside the ring before warning Flair and Bliss not to come any closer. Michin gets ready to return to the ring, but a recovered Tatum kicks her down. Paxley hits a Standing Moonsault on her opponent. Tatum poses alongside Charlotte and Alexa as we head into another commercial break.
We return to find Michin punishing Paxley with the help of the ropes. Tatum breaks free and lands several punches on her opponent. However, Michin quickly regains control. Michin traps Paxley in a painful submission hold. Tatum turns around and falls onto Michin, covering her in the process. 1..2..NO. Paxley avoids the impact of a corner cannonball. Tatum catches Michin off guard with a roll-up. 1..2..NO.
Paxley takes Michin down with a superkick. Tatum continues her offensive assault, kicking her opponent with an enzuigiri by the ropes. Paxley tries to put Michin away, but the latter catches her off guard with a sit-out powerbomb. Tatum blocks a Styles Clash and responds with a body drop. Paxley follows up with a spinning heel kick before putting her away with a Cemetery Drive. 1..2..3.

Paxley escapes to ringside before Cargill and B-Fab can attack her. Charlotte, Alexa and Tatum pose victoriously on the entrance ramp as the segment comes to an end.
Jackie Redmond interviews Blake Monroe backstage. Redmond asks the Brit why she put her debut on the line last week by attacking Giulia. "The Glamour" makes it clear that she risked nothing. She simply refused to compete against an opponent who was not on her level. That said, she suggests that Jackie ask Nick Aldis directly why he scheduled a match like that for a superstar like her. "I will make my debut only when there is an opponent who meets my criteria and an entrance worthy of The Glamour," she says. An enraged Giulia storms onto the scene and attacks the Brit. Several officials have to intervene to separate "The Beautiful Madness" from her victim. Monroe remains in pain on the floor as the segment comes to an end.
Kevin Owens runs into Randy Orton backstage. "I hate to admit it, but you were right about Cody Rhodes," says "The Viper". "I know! I know! I was trying to tell you! How many times did I tell you? It's incredible! I'm glad you finally..." the Canadian exclaims before being interrupted. Orton hasn't forgotten that Owens hit him with a piledriver, so they are not friends again. Kevin points out that they need to work on that, so he will call him after his match tonight. The Canadian heads to the ring, bringing this segment to an end.
MFT and Haku cut a promo backstage. Tama Tonga recalls his victory over R-Truth and Damian Priest last week. Talla Tonga, meanwhile, sends a direct message to Shinsuke Nakamura, reminding him how badly they kicked his ass the last time they met. The beating was so severe that Nakamura had to return to Japan to look for reinforcements. Tama addresses Kyoki, making it clear that his senpai brought him to the United States just to get his ass kicked. "We must not underestimate our enemies," says Haku. "Your challengers must be destroyed. Why? Because you are fucking Tongans!" the legend exclaims to bring the promo to an end.
R-Truth approaches Damian Priest backstage. R-Truth laments last week's defeat, but he is already ready to win the tag team championships back. Damian is pleased with the summer they have spent together as champions. However, the time has come for them to go their separate ways. R-Truth hugs the Puerto Rican, begging him not to leave him. Priest can't help but smile. The Puerto Rican reminds his partner that he moved from Raw to SmackDown to win singles championships. That's why he needs to refocus on that goal.
War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) appear on the scene. Erik doesn't understand how Priest and R-Truth can break up the team without first getting their revenge on MFT, because they certainly will. R-Truth points out that his partner has a mission, which is to win more gold. That's why he challenges them to put the AAA Tag Team Championships on the line. Ivar and Erik have no problem giving them that opportunity, although it will have to be in Mexico. Priest tries to reject the proposal, but R-Truth accepts it before he can say anything. "We'll see you in Mexico," Erik says before leaving with his partner. Damian tries to explain to R-Truth that they need to go their separate ways, but the latter asks him to team up one last time before saying goodbye. Priest has no choice but to accept his friend's wish. Damian walks away. "Mexico, here we come!" R-Truth exclaims as the segment comes to an end.
The Irresistible Forces approach Nick Aldis in his office. Nia Jax wants an opportunity at the WWE Women's Interim Championship after defeating Chelsea Green tonight. Aldis cannot grant her request because the Canadian is being evaluated by the medical team. Nia claims that she has been screwed over too many times and, as far as she remembers, Aldis made it clear that Chelsea must defend her championship within thirty days. "So if you don't give me a title match within two weeks, I'll take it by force," Nia says. The Irresistible Forces leave, at which point The Miz and Kit Wilson appear on the scene. They berate the General Manager for allowing them to be mistreated during their latest appearances on the blue brand. Wilson demands compensation. Aldis agrees. That's why he offers them a tag team match against Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki, which will mark Bakusai's WWE debut. The Miz accepts. Mizanin asks Wilson to take notes in his notebook. "Lesson 32: You're not part of the locker room until you've been taught everything. Miz style. Welcome to the dojo, rookie," a confident The Miz says, thinking about the reception he will give Kyoki.

Gunther vs. Kevin Owens vs. Finn Bálor
Gunther attacks Finn as he makes his entrance, prompting the referee to order the match to begin. Kevin charges at the Austrian. He unleashes a flurry of chops on Owens in one of the corners. The Canadian quickly responds, driving Gunther into the opposite corner, where he kicks him repeatedly, forcing the referee to intervene.
Gunther catches Kevin with a big boot, at which point Finn returns. He tries to hit an inverted DDT on the Austrian, but Owens stops him with a superkick. Kevin crushes Gunther with a senton before climbing to the top turnbuckle. KO dives with a Swanton Bomb. 1..2..NO. Bálor breaks up the count.
Finn catches Owens with a dropkick, only to eat a chop from Gunther. He continues striking the Irishman while preventing Kevin from getting back into the action. Bálor blocks a powerbomb from Gunther and sends him out of the ring. The Irishman builds momentum off the ropes, ready to dive onto "The Ring General", but Owens gets in his way. Finn sends the Canadian crashing to ringside. Gunther returns and catches Bálor in a sleeperhold. Finn runs toward the ropes to send the Austrian out of the ring. Bálor dives with a tope con hilo, landing on Gunther just before the final commercial break of the night.
We return to find Gunther, Owens and Bálor exchanging chops and kicks until all three are left lying on the mat. Finn kicks Gunther from the apron before diving with a Coup de Grace. The Austrian avoids the attack, only to fall into Owens' grasp. He crushes "The Ring General" in one of the corners before hitting a corner cannonball. Kevin tries to repeat the move in the opposite corner, but Finn stops him with a slingblade.
Bálor gets rid of Gunther before hitting a Shotgun Dropkick on KO. Finn prepares for a Coup de Grace, but Owens stops him. Gunther returns to catch Kevin, taking him down with a clothesline. "The Ring General" lands a chop on Finn, knocking him down. The Austrian approaches Owens and traps him in a sleeperhold on the mat. Bálor dives onto both men with a Coup de Grace.
Gunther catches Finn. He breaks free and hits an inverted DDT. Bálor follows up with a Shotgun Dropkick before putting the Austrian away with a Coup de Grace. 1..2..NO. Sami Zayn suddenly appears and pulls the Irishman out of the ring, interrupting the three-count! Zayn throws Bálor over the announce table. The referee berates Sami, who responds by knocking the official out with a right hand!
Meanwhile, Gunther and Owens return to the ring. Kevin hits a Stunner on the Austrian and then covers him. "1..2..3..4..5..6..7.." the fans chant. A new referee runs down to the ring, but Zayn intercepts him as well! "Not while I'm in charge," Sami says.
CM Punk storms onto the scene!
"The Best in the World" charges at Sami, sparking a fight at ringside. CM Punk throws the Canadian into the crowd barrier. "This is justice, Sami!" the champion exclaims before resuming the assault. CM Punk throws Zayn into one of the ring posts. "This is justice!" he exclaims again before striking the Canadian in the face. CM Punk picks his championship up off the floor. "The Best in the World" prepares to use it as a weapon against Sami. Zayn realizes what the champion intends to do and flees into the ring. CM Punk quickly follows him. However, once inside, Owens launches an attack.
KO and CM Punk exchange attacks. Zayn takes advantage of the situation to pick up the championship belt and smash it into Kevin's face. Bálor returns, only to receive the same treatment. Gunther catches Zayn in a sleeperhold. Sami breaks free by using the championship belt as a weapon. CM Punk gets back to his feet, but soon falls back onto the mat after being struck in the head with his own championship. Zayn poses over all his enemies with the championship held high. The fans shower him with a loud chorus of boos. And so we reach the end of this week's episode of SmackDown.
