AJ Styles will be present on August 30 in Texas during the double header formed by WWE NXT Heatwave and the AAA event, but everything points to his participation taking place away from the cameras. The former WWE Champion will travel to work behind the scenes and collaborate in the production of the matches, instead of being part of a televised segment or returning to the ring during any of the two shows.
According to PWInsider, Styles has been taking on producer duties while Terry Taylor recovers from a knee operation. This responsibility explains his presence in Texas and will have him involved in the organization of both events. Styles' decades of accumulated experience will be used to help the talent and oversee different aspects of the matches while Taylor continues to be away from his usual duties.
Styles' presence on a day when WWE and AAA will hold two shows in the same area could fuel rumors of a surprise appearance. However, the current expectation is for him to remain backstage and focus on his duties as a producer. Therefore, there are no indications that WWE is preparing a match or an intervention for him at NXT Heatwave.
Although this practically rules out his participation in a televised segment, Styles' presence remains relevant for the development of the double header. WWE is leveraging his knowledge to support the wrestlers and help maintain the production level while Terry Taylor is on leave.
