Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, known for years as The New Day, are reportedly close to joining All Elite Wrestling. According to information from Fightful Select, both wrestlers are expected to sign with AEW, unless an unexpected change occurs. The agreement may have been reached recently, as just two weeks ago they did not have a contract with the company.
Discussions between the parties are said to have started after that moment and culminated in an agreement in the past few weeks. Although the signing seems to be on track, official details about the debut date and the team's presentation have not been announced yet.
Kingston and Woods are also scheduled to participate in AEW All In: London 2026. There, they are expected to team up with Swerve Strickland in the Trios Royal Roulette match, where they are currently listed as the wildcard team of the event.
Their arrival in AEW would also mean a change of identity. The duo would not use the name The New Day and would receive a new designation for their time in the company. For now, that name has not been revealed.
The possible addition of Kingston and Woods had been speculated for some time, but the agreement reportedly took shape recently. More details about their debut and new identity are expected to emerge after AEW All In: London 2026.
