WWE is celebrating a new episode of Monday Night Raw tonight, this time number 1,736, from the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The show will be broadcast on Netflix. Solowrestling will bring you the results in this news as every week.
Tonight's episode will feature several attractions, highlighting the final of the tournament that will determine the challenger for the Heavyweight World Championship at the Mexico show on September 14. In addition, Raquel Rodriguez will defend the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruca. As always, we invite you to comment on the article to give your opinion on what happened on the show.
WWE Raw starts on Netflix!
We see a vehicle arriving at the venue's parking lot. A second car stops behind them. Three men get out of it. They are Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price, who attack the venue's security. Keys uses a lever to smash the windshield of the first vehicle while OTM take care of Jimmy Uso, one of the men inside that car. Royce pulls Jey Uso out of the window to hit him. The program's production pixelates Jey's face to not show the blood coming out of it. Keys returns with OTM to order them to perform a double chokeslam on Jimmy on the rear of the vehicle. The glass ends up shattered by the impact. Jacob Fatu appears on the scene with a pipe in his hands. Keys and OTM quickly return to their car to escape the scene. Adam Pearce and several officials come to assist The Usos. Meanwhile, Jacob shouts in frustration.
Sol Ruca makes her entrance in the ring to compete in the first match of the night. Meanwhile, in the parking lot, they continue to attend to Jimmy and Jey Uso. Raquel Rodriguez is the next to appear on the scene. She is accompanied by Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, who wish her luck before returning backstage. Jimmy and Jey continue to be attended to alongside their vehicle. Mark Nash introduces Sol and Raquel before Jessika Carr raises the championship that will be at stake. Suddenly, Jacob Fatu bursts onto the scene. With a microphone in hand, "The Samoan Werewolf" climbs onto the commentator's table to address Royce Keys and OTM. "Do you want a war with The Bloodline?! Do you want a war against us!?", shouts the Samoan before promising to personally kick their butts. The production team cuts off the Samoan's microphone. Meanwhile, Adam Pearce and several officials ask him to get off the table. Furious, Fatu retreats through the stands, destroying everything in his path.
Women's Intercontinental Championship Match
Raquel Rodriguez (c) vs. Sol Ruca
Raquel surprises Sol with a clothesline to take control of the match. Rodriguez unleashes a flurry of elbows on Ruca in one of the corners. Sol uses her agility to surprise Raquel with a hurricanrana. Ruca continues with a clothesline to throw her out of the ring. After that, she launches herself at the champion with a Sasuke Special. Sol brings Rodriguez back into the ring to continue the fight.
Raquel surprises Sol with a Pounce to regain control. Ruca dodges a charge from the Texan to respond with a direct dropkick to the back. Sol once again shows off her agility to surprise the champion with a springboard crossbody. 1..2..NO. Ruca traps Rodriguez in a tarantula. The referee forces her to release her prey, who ends up on ringside. Sol leans on one of the posts to execute a moonsault, but her opponent dodges it. Rodriguez crushes Ruca with a crossbody just before a commercial break.
We return to see Sol escaping the pressure from Rodriguez, whom she knocks down with a Missile Dropkick. Ruca finishes her off with a Shining Wizard. 1..2..NO. The action moves to the apron area, where Sol performs a sunset flip powerbomb on the champion. Suddenly, Liv and Roxanne appear on the scene. Ruca hits both on the entrance ramp before returning to the ring. Sol jumps on Morgan and Perez with a springboard corkscrew.
With both women apparently out of action, Ruca brings Rodriguez back into the ring, where she prepares to finish her off with a Sol Snatcher. Liv gets on the apron to get Carr's attention. At that moment, Lyra Valkyria appears out of nowhere to stop Ruca on the top turnbuckle. Raquel takes advantage of this to catch Sol, to whom she applies a Texan Bomb. 1..2..3.
Winner and STILL Women's Intercontinental Champion: Raquel Rodriguez
The members of The Judgment Day celebrate the victory in the center of the ring while Lyra watches from the commentator's table.
Penta and Rey Fenix star in a promotional video prior to their match in the tournament final that will determine Roman Reigns' opponent for the Heavyweight World Championship at WWE Raw: Mexico. Penta and Rey Fenix recall their professional trajectory and the brotherhood that has united them since always. Both are proud of each other, but they are also aware of what is at stake tonight. "There is no one I would be more honored to face...", says Penta. "There is no one I would be more honored to defeat...", says Rey Fenix. "...than my brother", they both say in unison as they high-five.
Chad Gable makes his entrance in the ring. "¡Gable! ¡Gable!", chant the fans. The Intercontinental Champion thanks them for this reception. "When I won this championship, I thought I would finally feel like I had achieved it, that I would be satisfied. I have finally achieved everything I expected and yet, I don't feel that way, because recently I have realized that the hard work starts now", confesses Gable. This is the moment when he must define his legacy, especially how he wants people to remember him as a champion. Two weeks ago, he began to forge this legacy by facing one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Rey Mysterio. And speaking of the legend, Chad doesn't want to forget his time in Mexico. Gable wants to thank the AAA fans for everything they did for him. It was they who gave him the necessary confidence that has brought him here. "I wouldn't be Intercontinental Champion if it weren't for the people of Mexico", Chad affirms. He didn't want to return to that country until he had something to reward his fans with. But now he has it. Gable officially announces that he will defend the championship at the WWE Raw show in Mexico City on September 14. Chad has a long list of opponents who deserve an opportunity, and now he wants to invite one of them into the ring. It's Dragon Lee, who had a great performance in the semifinals of the tournament taking place on the red brand last week.
Dragon Lee joins Gable in the ring
Chad congratulates Lee on his match last week, indicating that it was truly inspiring. Also, he wants him to know that he is one of his favorite wrestlers on the roster. Dragon assures him that it is also an honor for him to share the ring with him. Both men shake hands. Chad resumes the announcement of his title defense in Mexico, revealing that Adam Pearce has allowed him to choose his opponent on that show. However, before he can continue...
Ethan Page interrupts the segment
"All Ego" doesn't want to keep listening, as he knows perfectly well what Gable is about to say. The Intercontinental Champion will give another title shot to a talentless wrestler who doesn't deserve it. "Chad, I understand that you feel guilty about how you treated everyone, but that's no reason to be lenient with yourself. Look, if you want a real challenger, just face 'All Ego' Ethan Page", he says as he heads to the ring. Gable assures him that his name is on his list of potential challengers, specifically just below Honky Tonk Man. The fans laugh.
"Read all you want, but you're here talking about leaving a legacy. Honky Tonk Man has one of the longest reigns with the Intercontinental Championship of all time. Do you want to leave a legacy like that? Maybe you should stop feeling sorry for yourself, or you'll end up being a paper champion", says "All Ego". Lee tries to intervene, but Ethan doesn't allow it. "Look, little man, the men are talking", says Page. Furious, Dragon yells at "All Ego" as he stands in front of him. Lee points out that Page is a big mouth, but he never actually says anything. "Do you think you're better than me? I don't think so. They don't think so. If you really think you're better than me, why don't you prove it here in Cleveland, here and now?", asks the masked man. Chad takes the floor to acknowledge that it's a great idea. In fact, since he has permission from Adam Pearce to choose his challenger, he proposes that the winner becomes his opponent in Mexico. Gable addresses the General Manager directly, asking him to send a referee to the ring if he agrees with this decision. An official quickly arrives to officiate the match. Meanwhile, Chad takes a seat at the commentator's table.
Dragon Lee vs. Ethan Page
Ethan knocks down Dragon, who responds with quick kicks. Lee catches "All Ego" in a headlock. Page frees himself to take down the masked man with a shoulder tackle. Dragon jumps on his opponent. Page catches him in mid-air to respond with a powerslam. Lee tries to recover, but Ethan knocks him down with a tremendous big boot. Page and Lee exchange attacks in one of the corners. Dragon knocks down "All Ego" in the opposite corner, where he finishes him off with a running kick. 1..2..NO.
Lee expels his rival from the ring to then launch himself over him with a diving move. Dragon brings his opponent back into the ring, where he tries once again to launch himself at him. However, Ethan escapes through one of the sides of the ring. The masked man goes after him, but falls into a trap. Ethan moves the ring skirt to make his opponent fall, whom he then hits with a hanging butterfly backbreaker. Ethan brings Lee back into the ring to cover him. 1..2..NO. Page continues with a Cutthroat Fisherman's slam. 1..2..NO. "Damn it!", exclaims "All Ego".
Lee reverses a suplex into a roll-up. 1..2..NO. Dragon keeps attacking Ethan, whom he hits with a release German suplex, followed by a superkick. The masked man finishes him off with a tornado DDT. 1..2..NO. "All Ego" seeks refuge on the apron. Ethan blocks a hurricanrana, but can't do anything against a running knee strike. Dragon finally manages to perform a hurricanrana by leaping over the third rope. "All Ego" is sent flying towards the commentator's table. Lee tries to dive with a suicide dive, but Page stops him with a punch.
Ethan throws Page against Chad to provoke him. Page brings the masked man back into the ring. Furious, Gable gets on the apron, ready to go after "All Ego", but the referee doesn't allow it. Ethan takes advantage of the situation to remove the turnbuckle pad. Dragon surprises Page with a superkick. After that, he runs towards his opponent. Page dodges him, causing the Mexican to hit the metal. Ethan covers Lee. The referee realizes what happened, so he refuses to count to three. "All Ego" argues with the official, at which point a recovered Lee surprises him with the Operation Dragon. 1..2..3.
Winner: Dragon Lee
A vehicle arrives at the venue's parking lot. Roman Reigns gets out of it, walking towards the building. Soon he meets Jacob Fatu, who offers him an update on The Usos' condition. "The Samoan Werewolf" knows Royce Keys very well, so he can assure that he is the biggest problem for The Bloodline. "Jacob, Royce is YOUR problem. Take care of it. Everything else is MY problem", says Reigns, pointing at LA Knight. "The OTC" leaves to end the segment.
Roman makes his entrance in the ring. The fans welcome him with a great ovation. "The OTC", however, remains with a serious face. "¡Cleveland, Ohio! RECOGNIZE ME!", he exclaims. "¡OTC! ¡OTC!", the audience responds. "Oh, Cleveland. I'll tell you that being the true champion, the only champion that matters, being The Tribal Chief, is a burden. Everyone wants what I have. Everyone. I should be here celebrating the championship tournament. I should be talking about Rey Fenix and his brother Penta. I should be showing them respect, because that's what they're earning. Not like the rest of those around here, who do nothing but complain, lament, and protest for a chance at this title. But we're not going to do that anymore, no. We're not going to tolerate that lack of respect anymore, which brings me to Solo", he says. "Solo, I gave you the chance. I gave you the chance to give me what I've earned. You will recognize me and serve this family and our legacy. And what are you doing? Are you wasting that opportunity for LA Knight? Little cousin, I understand. He reminds you of The Rock, but he's not our family!", he exclaims. "Since we've mentioned him, let's talk about Mister..."
LA Knight interrupts the promo!
"The Megastar" stands on the entrance ramp. LA Knight intended to talk about Royce Keys and what happened last week. However, now he has to deal with Reigns and his recycled material from three years ago. "'He reminds me of The Rock'. Oh, that's good, buddy. I thought you were better than that. I thought you were someone important here. I thought you were the Heavyweight World Champion. The champion that matters. The OTC. The Tribal Chief. And yet you want to talk about who does things the right way and who doesn't. Well, I see Roman Reigns doing things the wrong way, because I've been mentioning your name for months and all you've done is put your family between us. You've put tournaments I can't participate in between us. And that made me realize one thing. I didn't know that OTC means One Tremendous Coward. If you're scared, just say it. I understand why you'd be scared, because look, this is the thing, man. The last time we were in the ring, two weeks ago, I smashed that big head of yours into the mat. And where were you last week? You didn't show up. You were probably at home nursing your wounds, rethinking your life decisions. And it's a good idea. But while you were rethinking those life decisions and what to do now, you had to understand my magnitude, because once you're with the horse, you have to let yourself go, and that journey starts right now", says LA Knight before getting into the ring.
"The Megastar" approaches "The OTC" when suddenly the arena screen shows a live video. We see Solo Sikoa lying on the backstage floor, with blood covering his head. Several officials try to help the Samoan and figure out what happened. Concerned, LA Knight gets out of the ring and heads backstage. Jacob Fatu is next to Sikoa. However, he seems far too calm to have been the attacker. LA Knight arrives at the scene. "The Megastar" immediately accuses "The Samoan Werewolf" of being responsible for what happened. "I had nothing to do with this!", Jacob screams. Suddenly, Roman appears out of nowhere and takes LA Knight down with a Superman Punch. Reigns approaches Fatu. "Take care of Royce. I have him under control", Roman says, pointing at LA Knight. "The OTC" leaves, bringing the segment to an end.
We see a new promotional video hyping the arrival of Lola Vice, who will make her WWE Raw debut on September 14.
Dominik Mysterio (with JD McDonagh) vs. Je'Von Evans
Mysterio attacks Evans before he can even get into the ring. Dom brings his opponent inside the squared circle, where the referee calls for the bell. Je'Von wastes no time showcasing his agility to take control. McDonagh grabs Evans' legs to distract him. This allows Dom to attack his opponent from behind. Evans recovers and sends Dominik out of the ring. He then dives onto him with a tope. We head to another commercial break.
We return from commercial to see Mysterio dominating the match. Dom uses the ropes to punish Je'Von, forcing the referee to intervene. JD takes advantage by landing a right hand on Evans. Mysterio continues beating and taunting Je'Von, who responds with fury. Evans sends Dom crashing into one of the turnbuckles, where he hits him with a tornado kick. Je'Von follows up with a diving clothesline on Mysterio.
JD helps Dominik out of the ring. The AAA Mega Champion leans against the apron to catch his breath. Evans goes after him, but first decides to get his revenge by knocking McDonagh out with a right hand. Je'Von throws Dominik over the barricade. Evans creates some distance (going around the ring) before running toward the barricade with the intention of diving onto Mysterio, but McDonagh runs into him. The referee calls for the bell.
Winner via disqualification: Je'Von Evans
Dom and JD continue attacking Evans, who can do nothing while outnumbered. Suddenly...
Say his name and he is appears! Joe Hendry is here!
The Scot runs toward the ring, taking both heels down with a double clothesline. He then throws them over the top rope. Hendry approaches Je'Von to check on him. Adam Pearce appears on the entrance ramp. Furious, the General Manager makes it clear that Mysterio and McDonagh will not get away with this one. With that said, he books a tag team match, taking place HERE AND NOW.
Hendry and Evans go after their opponents to attack them. Je'Von and Joe throw their enemies over the crowd barricade. Evans creates some distance before running toward them and -this time for real- diving over the barricade with a tope.
Tag Team Match
The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh) vs. Je'Von Evans and Joe Hendry
We return from commercial to see Hendry hitting a Vertical Suplex (longer than a day without bread) on McDonagh. 1..2..NO. Je'Von gets the tag. Evans hits another suplex on JD, who seeks refuge at ringside. Je'Von wastes no time going after the Irishman. He tags his partner as soon as he gets back into the ring, but Evans doesn't see it. Je'Von stalks McDonagh by the ropes, only for Dominik to surprise him from behind. The Judgment Day takes control once again.
Dom hits a suplex on Evans before tagging McDonagh. JD repeats the move on his opponent. McDonagh punishes his rival in his corner. Both men continue fighting on the second rope. Je'Von knocks the Irishman down before hitting a tornillo. Both wrestlers are left lying on the mat. Evans and McDonagh crawl toward their respective corners to tag in their partners.
Hendry comes in firing on all cylinders, handing out Freak of Nature left and right. His opponents end up at ringside. Joe dives onto both men. The action returns to the ring. Mysterio catches Hendry by surprise and tries to hit a 619. However, the Scot stops him with a clothesline. Joe asks the fans for their help (by clapping) as he prepares to hit his finisher. At that moment, JD knocks Je'Von off the apron and sends him crashing into one of the ring posts. He then climbs onto the apron himself to headbutt Joe, leaving him lying on the mat. Dom finishes him off with a frog splash. 1...2...3.
Winners: The Judgment Day
Cathy Kelley interviews Becky Lynch backstage. Kelley wants to know why "The Man" helped Stephanie Vaquer last week. Before she can answer, the Chilean appears on the scene. Becky asks her what she wants. Stephanie simply wants to hear the answer from the Irishwoman herself. Lynch points out that she didn't help her. She simply took the opportunity to mess with The Judgment Day. That's all. Lynch also knows how to recognize the worth of someone who faces three opponents on her own. Besides, she may prefer to take the world title from the Chilean rather than Liv Morgan. "Thank you, Becky. But as I already said, I don't need your help", Vaquer says. "You don't need my help, but you owe me one", Lynch replies. "Wait, I owe you something? No, no, no, no. I don't owe you anything", Stephanie says. "Please, you do owe me. At the very least, you owe me some respect as the greatest women's wrestler of all time. And I'm not the only one saying it. Everyone says it. And if you somehow manage to win the title by the skin of your teeth, I'll be the first one to come after you", "The Man" says. "There we have it. The real Becky. I was starting to trust you, and then you show me who you really are. Stay away from me. You don't deserve that title. That title deserves me", "La Primera" says before walking away.
Cathy Kelley interviews Paul Heyman backstage. Kelley asks "The Wiseman" for some kind of prediction or spoiler ahead of the match between Oba Femi and Bron Breakker at Sunday Night's Main Event. Heyman, however, cannot offer either one. Paul recalls that Bron and Oba have a lot at stake in this match, as they will both compete to find out who is the true future of WWE. The winner will have it easy. But what will happen to the loser? Their mindset after the defeat and the way fans perceive them from that point on will be key factors, especially as we enter the fall season, which precedes Royal Rumble and the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania. Without a doubt, this is the worst possible time to lose an opportunity like this. Heyman respects Oba Femi. How could he not after Oba defeated Brock Lesnar? As for Bron Breakker, he loves and respects him. He also considers him one of the best athletes in WWE and one of the hardest workers. And without a doubt, he will be an extremely tough opponent for Oba. "Predictions? Spoilers? I know what's at stake. Your guess is as good as mine. We're going to find out in real time this Sunday", the WWE Hall of Famer says before leaving.
Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez celebrate backstage. JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio join their teammates. They congratulate them on their victory tonight. "Je'Von won't be a problem anymore", Dominik says. Morgan assures them that The Judgment Day is still in charge on Raw. As for Stephanie Vaquer, she must be delusional if she thinks she can beat her next week. Roxanne promises her teammate that Vaquer will never be able to take the Women's World Championship away from her. As for Becky Lynch, she will make sure she doesn't get in Morgan's way because she'll have her back. Morgan thanks her for her words, but she isn't worried about anyone in that locker room. The only thing she regrets is that it seems everyone has forgotten who's in charge of this division. So next week, she will defeat "La Primera" once again to retain the title and show the world why she is the greatest women's world champion of alllll time. With that said, she points out that it's time to celebrate. Everyone except Liv leaves in search of a restaurant. Morgan smiles as the segment comes to an end.
