The CW and Netflix will air a new episode of WWE NXT tonight, with Vic Joseph and Booker T at the commentary table, live from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This will be the first show of the brand after Heatwave and will feature several matches and segments of interest, including a unique one-on-one match between Shiloh Hill and Naraku.
Additionally, Mason Rook and Kam Hendrix will clash in the ring in a singles match. On the other hand, Spanish Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar will face Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux in a tag team match. We see the arrival at the venue of two of tonight's protagonists: Kelani Jordan and Shiloh Hill.
Zilla Fatu is in charge of opening tonight's show. The Samoan heads to the ring, where he is handed a microphone. Zilla acknowledges that tonight he expected to come out as the new NXT Champion, but things didn't go as planned at Heatwave. However, just the fact of having competed for the brand's top title in his first WWE match already seems crazy to him. "But look. It's not just about winning, but when The Main One will hold that title", he says.
Tristan Angels interrupts the promo!
The Brit believes we've had enough. Angels reminds the Samoan that the fans present have the attention span of a fruit fly, so they have already lost interest in his promo. "Zilla, you lost. You showed everyone here that you're not ready to be The Main One in NXT. In fact, you're not The Main One in your own family. It seems that the more we delve into your lineage, the less talent we see", says Angels before climbing into the ring. For all this, he doesn't understand how the Samoan came to believe he would win the NXT Championship in his first match. Tristan assures that Fatu doesn't seem like a champion. Not like him, who is the most beautiful man in the UK and, by extension, in the whole world. "Wait a moment. I thought I was the only nepobaby in this place", says Fatu before asking the Brit who his father is. "I like your accent, but not your attitude. You see, Heatwave got me pumped. My family in Texas saw me in action. What do you think if my family here in Orlando sees me kicking your ass?", asks the Samoan. "If you want to earn your second defeat in NXT, I'll gladly do it," Tristan replies. He tries to surprise Fatu with his microphone, but the Samoan quickly dodges it to respond with a punch. Angels quickly escapes to ringside to avoid further trouble. The Samoan challenges Tristan to return to the ring as the segment comes to an end.
We move to the office of Robert Stone, who has been paying close attention to the previous confrontation. The General Manager ensures that he will make that match official for tonight. That said, he attends to EK Prosper and Saquon Shugars, who accompany him in the office. EK Prosper believes that Grayson Waller was referring directly to him in the promos in which the Australian attacked the male roster of the brand. That's why he wants to face him. Shugars acknowledges that EK Prosper did a great job last week, but couldn't win his match. Stone points out that both men have been doing a great job lately, so they deserve to step up. EK Prosper and Saquon congratulate each other on their matches from last week. Stone assures them both that he has them in mind for the appointment of the first challenger for Waller. Keanu Carver appears on the scene. "Hey, Stone. I see you're very busy. Both present quite convincing arguments, but I doubt they are the only ones who believe they deserve a chance against Grayson," says Carver. The General Manager asks Keanu to calm down. "Looks like you've gotten yourself into a bind, brother. What are you going to do?" asks Keanu. And so we come to the end of this segment.
Naraku carries out a video promo. "Shiloh Hill. Just because you've researched on the Internet, doesn't mean you've unraveled the mystery of the mist. I'll show the world the reason why you'll live in darkness," says the Japanese.
Myles Borne carries out a video promo posted on his social media. Borne admits that the last 48 hours have been a mess, as he lost his two championships at NXT Heatwave. Still, he doesn't regret competing twice in the PLE, nor attacking Tavion Heights. Borne recalls how his friend kept saying how much the tag team title meant to him and what he could do if he lost it. "Come on, I'm deaf, but not blind", says Myles. He knows how teams end up in this business and wasn't willing to let Heights betray him with a back attack. That's why he decided to act first. Borne has heard many times that wrestling is about making money or making friends. "I was too naive to believe I could have both. It sucks, man", he says to end this video.
Naraku vs. Shiloh Hill
Both men start with a feeling-out phase. Shiloh knocks down the Japanese, who responds with several chops. Naraku throws Hill against one of the corners before taking him down with a shoulder tackle. Shiloh recovers to surprise his opponent with a flying shoulder tackle. Naraku takes refuge in one of the corners, where he asks for compassion. The referee approaches Hill, a moment that the Japanese takes advantage of to surprise his opponent with a direct blow to the throat. Shiloh responds with a corner spear.
Hill seeks height in one of the corners, but Naraku makes him fall to ringside. The Japanese hits Shiloh's head against the apron before removing the commentator table protector. Naraku turns to his opponent, but he catches him to hit his head against the apron, thus avenging himself. Hill takes the Japanese back into the ring. After that, he seeks height to dive with a diving clothesline. Shiloh executes a corner spear on his opponent. Next, he throws the Japanese against the opposite corner to repeat the move, but this time his opponent dodges it. Hill impacts fully against the corner, allowing Naraku to regain control.
Naraku traps Hill in an STF. Shiloh crawls on the canvas aiming to reach the ropes. Naraku decides to release him to unleash a flurry of attacks. After that, he applies a Fisherman's Buster. 1..2..NO. Naraku knocks down his opponent again to trap him in a crossface. Hill frees himself, only to be knocked down again with a back elbow. 1..2..NO. Naraku applies a faceplant on his opponent. 1..2..NO.
Naraku takes Hill to one of the corners to continue hitting him. The Japanese applies several chops to Shiloh. He blocks one of them to start a counterattack. Shiloh knocks down Naraku with a spinning powerslam to finish him off with a spinning senton. 1..2..NO. Hill waits for the Japanese to stand up. Tired of waiting, Shiloh decides to do it himself. Naraku takes advantage to surprise his opponent, whom he drops on the top rope. The Japanese finishes him with a sit-out slam. 1..2..NO.
The action continues. Both men knock each other down with a clothesline in unison. Naraku and Shiloh crawl to opposite corners to stand up. We see how Naraku puts green mist in his mouth. The Japanese approaches Hill to spit it out. Both Shiloh and the referee crouch to prevent the substance from entering their eyes. Naraku changes his plan and passes his hand soaked in green mist over Shiloh's face, who is blinded. A Entering The Abyss puts an end to the match. 1..2..3.

We see a video recorded in the locker room before the show. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno show confidence as a team after their good performances. Dorian Van Dux, on the other hand, would have liked that confidence to be decisive last week, because Noam ended up receiving the three count. Sean Legacy reminds his partner that it was a tag team match. Anyone could have been the one to receive the three count. Dux understands, but at NXT Heatwave there was a change of tag team champions, and now it's time for Robert Stone to choose his first challengers. Moreno points out that it will be them, as they are the fastest rising team in the brand. Legacy disagrees with the Spaniard. "This is the team Stone talks about," says Sean as he points to Dux and himself. Dar believes the General Manager wants to see him and Moreno. Legacy ends the discussion by pointing out that tonight they will show Stone that they are a "super" team. Dar accepts the challenge, promising that they will show the General Manager that they are "Superguays". "Yes we can," say Noam and Romeo in unison before leaving. And so we come to the end of this video.
Tag Team Match
Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar vs. Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux
Romeo and Sean start the fight. Both men start a quick feeling-out phase. Legacy ends it with a dropkick. Moreno and DVD receive the relay from their partners. Dar tries to take down Dux. Failing that, Noam unleashes a flurry of attacks on his opponent, but he stops the Scotsman's momentum with a tremendous clothesline. Legacy receives the relay to continue the fight. DVD receives the relay again to crush the Scotsman with a diving legdrop.
Noam manages to reach his corner to relay Moreno. The Europeans combine to trap their opponents in a parallel Ankle Lock. Dux and Legacy turn to free themselves from the hold. The action moves to ringside. Sean blocks a Penalty Kick from Noam to carry him on his shoulders. Meanwhile, Dorian catches Romeo in mid-air, preventing the Spaniard from applying a hurricanrana. Legacy throws Dar onto the apron. Meanwhile, Dux drops Moreno on his knee.
Sean takes Dar back into the ring to kick his back. Legacy applies a combo of powerslam + Penalty Kick + standing moonsault on the Scotsman. 1..2..NO. DVD receives the relay. Dux places Dar in a Vertical Suplex position. After a few seconds, he relays to Legacy, passing him to his opponent. Sean continues to hold Dar in a Vertical Suplex position, even with one arm, to finally complete the move. 1..2..NO.
Noam reaches the ropes so Moreno can relay. The Spaniard surprises Sean with a superkick before taking him down with a dropkick. Romeo continues to attack Legacy with quick and accurate blows as he takes him to his corner. Dar receives the relay to continue punishing Sean. Dar and Moreno take turns hitting Legacy, applying a combined suplex. 1..2..NO. Moreno seeks height to dive with a moonsault. Sean dodges it to relay DVD, who enters with everything.
Dux executes a moonsault on Moreno. 1..2..NO. Dar interrupts the count. Romeo unleashes a flurry of attacks on Dorian, who responds forcefully. Dar and Legacy receive the relay from their partners to continue the fight. Noam tries to apply an armbar to Legacy. Meanwhile, Moreno executes a superplex on Dorian. Legacy lifts Noam with one hand to drop him on the Spaniard. The four men remain lying on the canvas. "This is amazing!" chant the fans.
The action resumes. Sean launches a suicide dive on Noam, but lands face-first on the ground. Dux approaches his partner to check on his condition, a moment when Moreno jumps on both. Legacy moves DVD aside to receive the attack from the Spaniard. Turn for Dorian, who jumps with an Asai Moonsault on Romeo and Sean. Dux takes his partner to the apron area to indicate that it's time to fly. However, Noam prevents it with a kick.
Moreno makes Dux fall on the metal steps. After that, he returns to the ring to join Dar. The Europeans prepare to apply a combined attack on Legacy, but he crouches at the last moment so that Noam knocks out his own partner with a back elbow. Legacy surprises Dar to apply a Death Valley Driver. DVD receives the relay to execute a diving splash. Turn for Sean, who jumps with a Springboard 450 Splash. However, Noam receives him with his knees. The Scotsman quickly covers a pained Sean. 1..2..3.

The Creed Brothers storm the ring to attack both teams! Julius executes a belly-to-suplex on Noam before joining his brother. Together they knock down Moreno with a combo of Brutus Bomb + powerbomb. The former NXT tag team champions pose in the ring as the segment comes to an end.
We move to Robert Stone's office. He talks with the unified champion Zaria, who must make a decision about her belts. "Everyone knows who was the last to hold both titles. She's not here anymore. And neither is this Speed Championship", says the Australian before handing the title to Stone. Zaria leaves. The General Manager approaches Lexis King (who is accompanied by the rest of BirthRight). Stone informs him that, following Zaria's decision, he must also deactivate the WWE Speed male championship. King is not happy with the decision. Neither is Charlie Dempsey, who doesn't understand why Stone still doesn't take the faction seriously, especially after their victory last week. "You know what, Stone? You can take this title from me, but you'll never take away our birthright", says King as he hands his belt to the General Manager. Dempsey believes it's time to take what they deserve and not wait any longer. King agrees with his partner and knows where to start. The faction leaves the office, and Cruz Montana appears. The Puerto Rican reminds Stone that he didn't get the three count at Heatwave and that his only match against Grayson Waller ended without a result. Two reasons why he deserves a title shot against the Australian. Keanu Carver shows up at the office once again. "Everybody wants Waller. Tony will surely want his rematch. Tough luck, Stone," says Carver before leaving. "He's right," Cruz tells the General Manager as the segment comes to an end.
Kelani Jordan makes her way to the ring. Jordan wastes no time bragging about winning the NXT Women's Championship on her first opportunity, just as she had promised. Some fans get ready to start the traditional "You deserve it!" chant, but Kelani interrupts them. Jordan doesn't need to hear something she already knows. Kelani recalls her match against Kendal Grey at Heatwave and how it instantly became one of the best matches of the year. "When Kendal won the title, you had already put her in the Hall of Fame. Remember, she was the girl who was going to revolutionize women's wrestling. But I beat her. Where does that put me?" she asks the fans.
Jordan admits that she had prepared a speech in case she lost, but ultimately it wasn't necessary. She and Grey put together an instant classic, which ended when she drove the former champion's face into one of the turnbuckle pads. Kendal is now hospitalized with vertigo. "But that's okay, because Wren will take good care of you like the lackey she is," she says. Kelani also assures everyone that she won't hesitate to grant Kendal a title rematch once she recovers. However, the result will be the same, because Grey will never be first as long as Jordan is around. Kelani turns the focus back to herself to brag about having a record that nobody else holds in NXT: she is the only woman to have won the Women's North American Championship, the TNA Knockouts World Championship and the NXT Women's Championship, all on her first opportunity. "Give me all the recognition now, and recognize this. Now that I'm champion and I have this title, nobody is taking it away from me. Nobody is surpassing me. Nobody is ignoring me again. Nobody..."
Jaida Parker interrupts the segment!
Parker acknowledges that Kelani earned the NXT Women's Championship. Nobody can say otherwise. However, she wasn't the only one who kept her promise at Heatwave, because she got rid of the biggest weight she had ever carried on her back. She forced Nattie to submit, and now she's ready to keep moving forward. Over the past few months, she has made it clear that she has what it takes to be a champion, so now she's got her eyes on the title Jordan is holding over her shoulder. And speaking of major accomplishments, Parker reminds everyone that she has already beaten Kelani. With that said, she points out that she has her gear in the locker room, so they could face each other for the gold tonight. Jordan acknowledges that Jaida has improved, but she's still far below her level. Despite that, she intends to be a champion who defends her title, so she has no problem putting it on the line against Parker... but it won't be tonight. "You don't decide when I defend my title. I'll see you next week," says "The Standard" before leaving the ring. Jordan heads backstage. On her way, she crosses paths with Thea Hail, who wastes no time pointing at her (and her championship). Hail heads to the ring, where she embraces Parker.
Thea Hail vs. Nikkita Lyons
Hail dodges two consecutive kicks from Nikkita before responding with a faceplant. Thea unleashes a strong offensive assault on the left arm of the Evolve Women's Champion. Lyons stops Hail's momentum by violently driving her into the second rope. Nikkita continues attacking her opponent before trapping her in a crossface. Lyons licks Hail's forehead to mock her. Thea hoists her opponent onto her back before dropping down onto the mat. This allows her to break free.
Hail launches a counteroffensive that ends with a spinning neckbreaker. 1..2..NO. Nikkita responds with a release german suplex before knocking her opponent out with a right hand. Hail blocks a Liger Bomb and responds with a roll-up. 1..2..NO. Thea tries to catch Lyons in a Kimura Lock, but her opponent avoids it by taking her down with a powerbomb. Nikkita kicks Hail before launching herself into a Vader Bomb. Thea dodges it, causing her opponent to crash face-first into the mat. Hail finishes her off with a Boing. 1..2..3.

Vic Joseph provides an update on Kendal Grey's condition, revealing that the former NXT Women's Champion will be out of action indefinitely.
Mason Rook vs. Kam Hendrix
Rook charges at Hendrix while he is making his entrance. Mason takes Kam inside the ring (where the referee calls for the bell) and takes him down with a clothesline. Rook crushes his opponent in two of the corners before hitting a powerslam. He then pummels him with a senton. Hendrix dodges another corner splash and responds with a right hand. As a result, the Briton ends up outside the ring. Kam sends Mason crashing into the steel steps. Hendrix brings him back inside the ring and covers him. 1..2..NO.
Kam continues his assault, crushing Rook with a senton. Hendrix focuses his punishment on his opponent's back. Rook blocks a suplex and responds with a crossbody. Mason continues his offensive attack, hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb. 1..2..NO. Kam blocks a powerslam and applies a roll-up. 1..2..NO. Hendrix takes the Briton down with a kick. 1..2..NO. Kam removes one of the turnbuckle pads. The referee notices and immediately reprimands the wrestler. Rook takes advantage by driving his opponent into the exposed turnbuckle. Mason takes Hendrix down with a bodydrop before finishing him with a sit-out powerbomb. 1..2..3.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Tavion Heights backstage. Heights admits that he has spent the past 48 hours thinking a lot about everything that happened at NXT Heatwave. Tavion is hurt by losing his Tag Team Championship, but what has affected him the most is the betrayal by his brother, Myles Borne. The Vanity Project interrupt the interview to mock Tavion. Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor believe Tavion should stop saying that he and Borne were brothers, because the truth is that they weren't even friends. Jackson Drake asks his teammates to be kinder to Tavion. "This guy knows he never would have touched tag team gold if it weren't for him (Myles)," says Drake. Angry, Heights tries to confront the new NXT North American Champion, but Myka Lockwood steps in. Tavion threatens Jackson with taking his championship away. "Tavion, I'd love nothing more than to start my reign with an easy win over a former Olympic wrestler and give you one more reason to cry. Let me talk to Stone for a moment," says Jackson before leaving with his teammates.
Tristan Angels vs. Zilla Fatu
Zilla corners Tristan in one of the turnbuckles, prompting the referee to intervene. The Briton takes advantage of the situation to surprise the Samoan with well-placed strikes. Fatu is quick to respond. Zilla crushes Angels in one of the corners before hitting him with a bodydrop. Fatu pins Tristan face-down against one of the corners before hitting a flying headbutt. Tristan uses the ropes to turn the situation around.
Zilla hits a clothesline to send the Briton out of the ring. The Samoan dives onto him with a suicide dive. "Fatu! Fatu!" the fans chant. Zilla brings Angels back inside the ring. Fatu looks to climb up high. Tristan grabs the referee and uses him as a shield. Angels quickly runs toward his opponent and sends him crashing onto the turnbuckle. He then kicks him, sending him straight to ringside.
Tristan goes after his opponent, who we see bleeding from the mouth. Angels tries to smash Fatu's face into the steel steps, but the Samoan blocks the attack and responds in kind. Now Angels sends his opponent into one of the metal ring posts before bringing him back inside the ring. Tristan kicks Zilla before hitting him with a suplex. The Briton continues his offensive assault.
Angels dodges a back senton and kicks his opponent, sending him out of the ring. Tired of waiting, Tristan goes after his opponent and brings him back inside the ring. Angels traps him in a sleeperhold. The Samoan drops backward onto the mat to break free. Zilla continues striking his opponent, smashing his face into all four corners of the ring. Fatu finishes him with a uranage, followed by a senton. 1..2..NO.
Tristan dodges the impact of a Running Hip Attack and responds with a backstabber. 1..2..NO. The Briton takes Fatu to the top of one of the turnbuckles. Zilla escapes his opponent's grasp and surprises him with a superkick. Fatu follows up with a pop up samoan drop before finishing his opponent with a Triple Z. 1..2..3.

BirthRight in its entirety (Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace) interrupt Fatu's celebration. Connors welcomes Zilla to NXT. Uriah and his teammates intended to introduce themselves to the Samoan, but they know it won't be necessary, because he must already know them, since he's just like them. Dempsey claims that Fatu is destined for greatness because of his lineage. They, on the other hand, are being overlooked. But that would change with the Samoan by their side. That's why he offers him a place in the faction. King assures him that he will be treated as part of a family and that they will help him reach the top. They will also protect him from all the enemies he has made backstage. Zilla takes the microphone. "Hello! Of course not!" exclaims Fatu, rejecting the offer. Zilla prepares to leave the ring, but Lexis stops him. The Samoan takes King down with a superkick and gets to safety at ringside to avoid an attack from the rest of the faction's members. Smiling, Zilla walks up the entrance ramp to bring the segment to an end.
Robert Stone introduces the new NXT Champion, Grayson Waller, who makes his way to the ring. The General Manager gives the Australian the spotlight. Waller mocks the fans, who were probably expecting to see someone else holding the brand's top prize. Waller knows there is someone who was happy about his victory. That person is Stone, who finally has a man capable of elevating his brand.
Grayson acknowledges that winning this championship means a lot to him. More than anything he accomplished on the main roster. And, at this point, it's time to thank everyone who helped him along the way. In reality, there is only one person he needs to thank, and that's himself. "I was the one who took the risk of coming back here, defeating my demons and winning the championship! I'm the one who, day after day, despite the fact that I get nothing, has worked hard to get myself in shape so I can wear this with pride! I'm the one who went out there on Sunday (he points to one of the corners) and put his life on the line to take out Zilla Fatu. Goodbye!" exclaims the Australian, mocking the Samoan's well-known greeting ("Hello!").
"I was the one who forced the world to listen! Now you can't ignore Grayson Waller anymore! My phone hasn't stopped ringing with calls from people who used to ignore my calls. Hey, Nick Aldis! Adam Pearce! Sorry, guys. I'll call you when I'm ready," says Waller while looking into the camera. With that said, he points out that his path to redemption has only just begun. The first step was winning the NXT Championship. Now it's time to find out who will step up and try to take the gold away from him. Maybe Zilla? He's not so sure about that. The Samoan came to the company to earn an immediate opportunity thanks to his DNA. But talent isn't always passed down through the genes. Could it be Cruz Montana? "I saw him crying backstage on Sunday. He's not as tough as you think. You know what? Let's be fair. Cruz, you're very good... Good for TNA," says the Australian. What about Tony D'Angelo? Does he want his championship back? Grayson points out that it will take a shovel and two dimes (a reference to "Two Dimes," who ended up "sleeping with the fishes" on Tony's direct orders) to dig him out of the deep hole he left him in. "I'm standing in this ring. Who's going to step up and do something about it?" asks the champion.
Saquon Shugars interrupts the Australian!
"Grayson Waller, I think you just found the answer to your question!" exclaims Saquon. He points out that, just as Waller has shaken things up in NXT, he did the same by shaking Dion Lennox's ass in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match. And if Grayson doesn't choose his words carefully, the same thing could happen to him. Waller mocks Shugars' look when suddenly...
Cruz Montana appears in the crowd!
"Listen to me, Waller. Maybe he's not ready, but I am. And that's a fact, because you didn't beat me three weeks ago, and you sure as hell didn't beat me at Heatwave!" exclaims the Puerto Rican.
EK Prosper appears on the scene!
EK Prosper doesn't want to disrespect Montana, but he already had his opportunity. Meanwhile, he has been shining in NXT week after week as he worked his way toward the gold. Now that he can taste it, he wants to take the next step and win his first championship.
Mason Rook joins the discussion!
"Grayson! Grayson! Do you think you can come in here and shake things up without consequences? You've pissed off every guy back there, including me. Like you said, let's be realistic and see how tough you are when a tank runs you over."
Tony D'Angelo interrupts the segment!
Tony makes it clear that nobody has the right to ask for a title opportunity before him. That championship was his. He busted his ass leading this division as champion, and he won't let anyone disrespect that title. D'Angelo expects Waller to have the balls to give him a one-on-one rematch.
Keanu Carver appears on the scene to remind Stone that he has a big decision to make. Carver suggests that he book a three-on-three tag team match between these men who are all desperate for an opportunity. The members of the winning team would then face each other in a triple threat, with the winner becoming the number one contender for the championship. Stone admits that it's a good idea. However, he only sees five men in the ring. Carver wastes no time entering the ring and positioning himself behind Waller. The General Manager approves Keanu's idea. Grayson continues provoking his potential challengers until he realizes that someone is standing behind him. The Australian turns around, at which point Carver tries to surprise him with a right hand. Waller dodges the attack and takes refuge next to the commentary table. From there, he simply watches the chaos that has just erupted in the ring. And that's how we reach the end of this week's show.
