WWE Raw shows on Netflix are usually reviewed after their live broadcast with the aim of censoring those parts that the platform does not consider suitable for the target audience. Therefore, it is very common for some promos to be cut due to a swear word and, of course, for blood to be censored.
Last Monday, WWE Raw was broadcast for the first time on a delay since the Netflix era began, so the episode was already censored in advance. Fans didn't take long to notice this when, in the first segment of the night, Jey Uso's face was partially blurred due to a bleeding cut on his head.
This censorship greatly upset fans and WWE's post-production team, leading the company to later release the uncensored segment on their social media. Today, the specialized media WrestleVotes has offered more details on the matter.
"According to what WrestleVotes has learned on Fightful Select, there are people within WWE's post-production department who sometimes feel 'handcuffed' by the restrictions imposed by Netflix, especially after the recent censorship on Monday Night Raw," the media wrote.
"Although WWE was aware of the parameters that Netflix was going to establish, there were those internally who did not expect the measures to be so strict," the report continued. "It is said that the decision to upload the unedited version of the Royce Keys and OTM attack on The Bloodline to social media was a 'unanimous' decision internally."
"Some believed that it was necessary for the storyline and should be seen as it was originally conceived and designed. Another source questioned whether the segment should have been delayed a week, until Raw aired live and in real time," Fightful wrote.
After a week of recorded shows, WWE will return to the routine of live recordings next Monday with a new episode of Raw from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. This will be the company's last show before the start of the tour of Latin America, which will last for a whole week.
