The show of WWE Sunday Night's Main Event, held last night in the city of Atlanta, left several headlines, including the debut of Lil Yachty in a professional wrestling ring. A debut he will never forget, as not only was he able to survive five minutes in a one-on-one with Baron Corbin, but also this feat granted Trick Williams an opportunity for the United States Championship, which the young talent did not waste.
Williams and Corbin exchanged periods of dominance as they tried to finish off their opponent. Trick avoided being a victim of the End of Days (a move that Lil Yachty received twice), thus increasing his chances of winning. Tired of his opponent's resistance, "The Lone Wolf" did not hesitate to use his belt to attack Trick (despite Yachty's attempts to prevent it). However, Williams survived the attack to respond with a Trick Shot from which Baron could not recover.
With his victory, Williams not only conquers his second championship as a talent on the WWE main roster, but also ends Corbin's undefeated streak since his return to the company. Trick's first reign lasted 105 days, during which he defended the belt three times. On the other hand, Corbin's reign ends after only 36 days, during which he also defended the title three times (the same as Williams).
A special mention goes to Lil Yachty's participation, not only because the rapper was able to survive Corbin's challenge, but also for having received two End of Days without it resulting in his defeat. It is worth noting that "The Lone Wolf's" finisher is one of the most effective in WWE history, as its execution has always led to Baron's victory. Last night, the former champion was overconfident, and his goal of humiliating the singer set off a chain of events that ended with Williams taking the title from him.
