The time that Stephanie Vaquer spent away from the ring was more complicated than fans imagined. The current women's world champion of WWE has revealed that she underwent surgery during her absence and that the recovery process forced her to completely stop her usual training routine.

Vaquer spoke about this experience in an interview with Yael Rueda, from Rueda en el Ring. Although she did not detail the reason for the operation or when it occurred exactly, she did explain how tough it was for her to suddenly be unable to train.

“It was difficult. It was very difficult because, after coming out of surgery and having to wait without training, I think it was one of the hardest things I've had to face in my life: not being active and not being able to train”, she stated.

“Returning to the ring was like returning to life”

Despite the setback, Vaquer assured that she returned stronger than ever. “But I returned to the ring, and stepping into the ring for me was like returning to life. It was a necessary break for my health, but I came back better than ever and I will continue as always: disciplined in my training and showing what I'm made of”, she concluded.

Stephanie Vaquer won the WWE Women's World Championship last weekend at the non-televised event that took place in Santiago, Chile. Vaquer defeated Liv Morgan in a match where Becky Lynch served as special referee.
