Kelani Jordan made her debut on the main roster of WWE in the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, held this week in Mexico City. The NXT Champion was part of one of the qualifying matches for Money in the Bank. A match that was won by the also debutant Lola Vice, who is already a talent of the red brand.
Jordan's participation, however, had a very clear intention by WWE: to introduce the wrestler to those fans who do not follow the NXT product. The reason can be found in the company's plans, which involve promoting Kelani once her reign in the developmental brand ends, as revealed in a recent report by WrestleVotes on Fightful Select.
"Following her debut on Raw, we have learned that Kelani Jordan's inclusion in the Money in the Bank qualifiers was aimed at introducing her to the mainstream television audience, as plans have been revealed for Jordan to move to the main roster once her reign as NXT Women's Champion concludes," the outlet wrote.
"Jordan, who has been part of the NXT roster since 2022, has several supporters within the locker room. According to a backstage source, she has shown significant improvement over time. The internal feeling is that her move to the main roster is now a matter of when, not if, and it is currently expected that her definitive incorporation will take place by the end of the year," the report concluded.
Jordan is one of the most talented women on the current NXT roster, thanks in large part to her background as a gymnast. Among her greatest achievements is being the first North American Champion in history, as well as the second NXT wrestler to win the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Jordan can also boast of having won all three of her championships (including the current NXT Women's Title) on her first attempt.
Jordan is in a romantic relationship with SmackDown wrestler Carmelo Hayes, so it is likely that her destination will be the blue brand. Kelani and Carmelo got engaged last summer. The wedding is scheduled to take place next October.
