After retiring from professional wrestling in January of this year, AJ Styles launched The Phenomenally Retro Podcast on YouTube, a show that lasted just seven months. Tony Giles, his co-host and producer, has confirmed on social media that the program has come to an end, although all episodes recorded with Styles will remain available.
«Hello everyone. Thank you for your support over the past 7 months. I've had a great time producing the show, but unfortunately it will no longer be active. The old episodes will remain available, the channel is not going anywhere and will be repurposed soon», wrote Giles. Moving forward, he will host The Loose Cart Podcast alongside John Riggs, a gaming content creator on YouTube.
In The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles talked about wrestling, his family, and also shared his passion for video games, a topic that fit with the "retro" focus of the program. At the moment, AJ himself has not made any public statements about the cancellation, but he seems focused on fulfilling his other responsibilities within the wrestling world after his retirement.
In addition to the podcast, Styles has been working as a talent scout for WWE and supporting his son, Avery Jones, in his early steps to start a career as a wrestler. His official retirement came at this year's Royal Rumble, where Gunther retired him after having ended the careers of John Cena and Goldberg the previous year.
Many fans were expecting Styles to hold on until WrestleMania 42 in April to hang up his boots, but "The Phenomenal One" chose to do it at the same pay-per-view event where he made his WWE debut a decade ago. With the podcast closed, his public presence is now limited to those behind-the-scenes roles and supporting the new generation, including his own son.
