Naomi could be getting closer to returning to WWE programming. According to a new report from False Finish, the company would be working on the comeback of the former women's world champion after more than a year away from the action. At the moment, no specific date has been indicated for her reappearance, nor are there details about the creative plans that WWE would have prepared for her.
The wrestler has been out of the ring since August 2025 due to her pregnancy. Her last match took place at WWE SummerSlam 2025, where she retained the Women's World Championship against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat Match. Naomi surprised Ripley with a roll-up to secure the victory and successfully complete her first title defense.
That reign had just begun a few weeks earlier. Naomi successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase at WWE Evolution 2025, interrupting the match between IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley to turn it into a Triple Threat Match and win the Women's World Championship.
After SummerSlam, WWE began promoting a title defense between Naomi and IYO SKY for the August 11 episode of Raw. However, the match was canceled because the champion had not received medical clearance to compete, without initially revealing the reason.
Naomi later explained that she found out she was pregnant on August 10, after taking a test in her hotel room. The wrestler admitted that she did not expect a positive result due to the fertility problems she had experienced for years.
In my hotel room, I felt strange. I decided to take a test to rule it out, not thinking it was possible, because it has been a long road with fertility issues.
The news became public a week later. Naomi and Jimmy Uso announced they were expecting their first child during a special edition of What's Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, whose content was later shown during Monday Night Raw.
Naomi was then forced to vacate the Women's World Championship, abruptly ending one of the highlights of her career. The situation also forced WWE to modify the creative plans they had prepared for the championship and for several members of the women's division.
The vacant title ended up becoming the center of a new story. WWE later scheduled a match between IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer to determine a new champion, while Naomi began an indefinite absence to face her pregnancy and later the birth of her first child with Jimmy Uso.
More than a year after her last match, the new report indicates that WWE is preparing Naomi's return in the near future. However, it is still unknown whether the company plans to reintroduce her to Raw, move her to SmackDown, or use another way to bring her back to television.
Her return would also open up an obvious creative possibility. Naomi never lost the Women's World Championship in the ring, as she had to vacate it due to her pregnancy. WWE could use that circumstance as a starting point for her return, although there is currently no information confirming that this will be the plan.
The situation in the women's division has also changed considerably since her departure, with names like Stephanie Vaquer, Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice currently holding important positions in the programming.
