The world of professional wrestling is still in mourning after the sad and unexpected death of Benjamin Slatterley, better known as PAC in All Elite Wrestling. The wrestler was found dead in his rental car in front of a restaurant in the city of Des Plaines, Illinois, eight days ago. At that time, the county coroner ruled out any signs of foul play in the death. Today, The New York Post has published new details regarding the incident.
According to a report from the Des Plaines Police Department, Satterley "allegedly had saliva on the front of his shirt and medications in his vehicle" when authorities found him on September 27th. The type of medication was not disclosed in the incident report.
Police also searched Satterley's pockets and backpack, but found nothing "relevant". On the other hand, the wrestler's Google Maps app was still open on his mobile phone and showed directions to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.
The phone rang while authorities were at the scene and a woman who answered explained that Satterley had told her he was going to stop at a CAVA restaurant to eat. Then, he planned to head to the airport to catch a flight back to the UK.
The woman explained that she had last spoken to him at 1:20 PM local time, and that his flight had been delayed until 3:30 PM local time. The police report also noted that there were "no obviously suspicious marks on Satterley or suspicious circumstances inside the vehicle".
Since the tragic news was announced, friends and colleagues in the profession have wanted to say goodbye to PAC, either through messages on their social networks or by wearing a bracelet in his honor (some of them on WWE's television programming). Among all of them, the emotional tribute that took place in the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite stands out, one of the toughest in the company's short history.
