New Orleans will host a new edition of Money in the Bank this weekend, the already traditional themed PLE event of WWE that will determine the next Mr. and Ms. Money in the Bank. Over the years, the city has been the venue for several premium events of the company, including WrestleMania. A show that could return to New Orleans in 2029, according to a recent report from Fightful.

"Sources familiar with the situation in New Orleans spoke with Fightful and informed us that there is a preventive reservation of the Superdome in New Orleans from March 12, 2029, to April 21, 2029. A source who has worked with WWE events in the city stated that this reservation was made in collaboration with WWE," the media wrote.

"Based on the concerts and other events that have been held there, it is expected that a two-week setup will require a reservation of the facilities. However, the wide time frame is probably due to the fact that the company is still trying to finalize a date. Nothing is official, but WWE currently has a reservation of the venue for that six-week period. Additionally, WWE officially has pending to assign a future WrestleMania date to Indianapolis," Fightful wrote.

"Despite this venue reservation, WWE has already withdrawn WrestleMania from New Orleans in the past. In fact, WrestleMania 42, which was originally scheduled to take place in New Orleans in 2026, was later moved to Las Vegas. Even Money in the Bank was postponed this year from September to October. When we contacted WWE through official channels, a spokesperson stated that there was still nothing definitive or anything to announce," the report concluded.

WrestleMania XXX took place on April 6, 2014, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, being the first edition of the grand event held in the city. That edition will be remembered for the coronation of Daniel Bryan as WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the end of The Undertaker's undefeated streak.

Four years later, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome once again became the stage for a new edition of the grand event, WrestleMania 34, which gathered 78,133 spectators, the highest attendance recorded in the arena up to that point. If this information is confirmed, New Orleans would host the 'Show of Shows' again eleven years after its last visit.
