In his second stage as a superstar of WWE, Cody Rhodes has established himself as one of the main faces of the company. Since his return in 2022, "The American Nightmare" has spent a good part of this time as the Undisputed WWE Champion or directly in the title picture. A position that has led him to self-proclaim as the "Quarterback" of the company, in a role that bears certain similarities to the one John Cena played for over a decade.

Rhodes has not only settled perfectly into this role, but has also had the support of both the audience and WWE itself. So much so that, as many had already anticipated, everything points to Cody ending his career as a wrestler in the company. Rhodes himself recently confirmed this during an interview on Flagrant Podcast, given in the promotion of "Street Fighter: The Movie".

Forgive me if this is breaking news and please edit if I'm not allowed to share it, but I just re-signed with WWE. So I will end my wrestling career in WWE

In addition to competing in the ring, Rhodes has also worked as an actor in Hollywood. A facet in which he is very comfortable. His most important role to date has led him to portray the iconic Guile from Street Fighter in the movie he is currently promoting. However, it seems it won't be the last, as Cody has WWE's permission to participate in other projects, even if it means occasionally stepping away from television programming.

But my wrestling career in WWE could also continue because now, in fact, I just spoke with The New York Times about this and it has been an incredible moment to share: now we can do these kinds of things. So, for example, if I have another project or two more projects, whatever they may be, I can take a step back, I can collaborate with WWE, and I can come back home

Rhodes maintains a fierce rivalry with Randy Orton on the SmackDown television programming. In it, "The American Nightmare" has toyed with the possibility of embracing a darker side, promising to kick his former mentor's head off without hesitation when given the chance.
