Hijo de Fishman has been released on bail. The wrestler was arrested last Wednesday after the death of referee Gerardo Germán Pineda, known as "El Búho", whom he had previously applied a martinete. At the time of his arrest, Son of Fishman was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
The announcement was made by Edgar Sandoval, CEO of El Patrón Espectáculos, and by the law firm Magallán Reyes y Asociados, which legally represents Hijo de Fishman. According to the announcement, the wrestler has committed to repairing the damage caused by this incident.
"To clarify the facts, thanks to the efforts made by the law firm and its team of professionals, an agreement for reparation has been reached, and Fishman is now free. This agreement includes the repair of the damage resulting from these regrettable events. There is no situation that requires further legal action, and today his release has been achieved," stated one of the wrestler's legal representatives.
Pineda, 75, was rendered unconscious after receiving a martinete during the match between Hijo de Fishman and Máscara Sagrada NG at the Deslealtades event by El Patrón Espectáculos. Emergency services were unable to save his life, and as a result, Hijo de Fishman was arrested, accused of possible reckless homicide.
The exact causes of death and the circumstances of the incident are still pending clarification. While El Patrón Espectáculos continues to provide legal assistance to the wrestler and urges caution regarding rumors, authorities have also reportedly partially closed the venue due to alleged irregularities in the event permits.
