John Cena continues to advocate for the possibility of WWE hosting a future edition of WrestleMania in London. Despite having ended his career as a professional wrestler, the former world champion remains convinced that the British capital deserves to host the company's most important event. However, he acknowledges that he is unaware of whether there are currently negotiations to make it happen.

During his participation in the Off Menu podcast, hosted by Ed Gamble and James Acaster, Cena once again showed his support for London's candidacy. The former WWE champion believes that the passion of British fans and the city's international projection are sufficient arguments to organize WrestleMania.

John Cena continues to advocate for WrestleMania in London

During the interview, Cena explained that his current relationship with WWE is much more relaxed than during his active wrestling days. However, that has not stopped him from continuing to promote the celebration of WrestleMania in the United Kingdom.

My role now is much more relaxed, but I continue to defend this idea. I'll say it right here: I keep trying to bring WrestleMania to London. I believe London has earned the right to host the event. I am very excited for this year's WrestleMania because it is the first one outside of North America. It is proof that it can be done.

The former world champion believes that London fans have shown their commitment to WWE for years and that the city has the necessary infrastructure and tourist appeal to welcome fans from around the world.

John Cena is unaware if WWE is currently negotiating with London

Although he maintains his support for the candidacy, Cena acknowledged that he does not have information about the discussions that WWE may be having to organize WrestleMania in the British capital.

The wrestler explained that he has used his public appearances to keep the proposal alive, although his influence within the company is currently limited.

With the little influence I have, I tried to encourage the audience a few times by saying that London had earned WrestleMania, and that got people talking about it.

Cena also did not rule out publicly raising the idea again during a future visit to the O2 Arena.

I don't know where those conversations are at, but maybe I can return to the O2 and defend the idea again. We'll see.

His statements do not confirm any agreement between WWE and London authorities. For now, it is an initiative that Cena continues to personally support.

John Cena recalls his request during Money in the Bank 2023

The possibility of hosting WrestleMania in London gained special relevance in July 2023, when John Cena surprised fans during Money in the Bank and publicly asked WWE to bring WrestleMania to the United Kingdom.

That appearance at the O2 Arena sparked a great reaction among attendees and fueled speculation about a possible British edition of the event.

During his interview on Off Menu, Cena clarified that his intervention had not been a previously agreed announcement with WWE, but a personal initiative.

I was just putting the idea on the table. But, honestly, it's just my perspective.

The former champion also explained that his support for London is based on the experience he has had during his numerous visits to the city.

I look around and see the energy, passion, and enthusiasm. It's a fantastic city to welcome visitors. WrestleMania is an event people travel to. Plus, London is one of my favorite cities in the world.

The Mayor of London also wants to bring WrestleMania to the city

Cena's proposal has the public support of the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who has stated on several occasions his intention to attract the event to the British capital.

In fact, Khan has maintained his interest in having London host WrestleMania and previously met with Triple H and Nick Khan, WWE's president, to explore possible opportunities.

However, the mayor's office clarified months ago that the discussions with the company had been of a general nature and that there were no specific negotiations for WrestleMania 2028.

Meanwhile, Cena insists that the British capital would be an ideal setting for WWE's most important event.

I love London. I think it would be a fantastic opportunity for people to discover its culture and experience WrestleMania, the Super Bowl of sports entertainment. We need to host WrestleMania here. It's just my opinion.

John Cena thus maintains his support for a future edition of WrestleMania in London, although he acknowledges that the final decision lies with WWE. Until an official announcement is made, the possibility of holding the event in the British capital remains a shared aspiration between the former world champion and local authorities.
