Fans of All Elite Wrestling continue to keep an eye on the potential arrival of Kairi, one of the most sought-after free agents on the market right now. As previously reported, AEW intended to negotiate her signing once the 90-day non-compete clause imposed by WWE expired. However, the Japanese star has yet to sign with the company. Although some rumors suggested that visa issues were delaying negotiations, a recent report from Fightful Select indicates that the situation may be quite different.
"Kairi's US visa has expired, and to renew it, she would need sponsorship from a wrestling company or an agency. Since she has not yet signed with AEW, that process has not been initiated. Once she signs, an expedited visa could be approved in as little as 15 business days. However, this is not a situation where they are currently waiting for a visa before she can debut: she has not signed yet, and no deal has been finalized," the outlet wrote.
Kairi was one of the wrestlers affected by the round of releases WWE carried out following WrestleMania 42. Her departure generated significant attention and criticism, as "The Pirate Princess" was one of the most beloved wrestlers among both fans and her fellow locker room members. Furthermore, her regular presence on the company's television programming made her departure all the more surprising. Her 90-day non-compete clause expired in late July.
Her final match took place on the April 20 episode of Monday Night Raw, where she teamed up with Asuka to face IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Since then, there has been considerable speculation about her professional future. While her potential move to All Elite Wrestling remains uncertain, Kairi already has her first appearance scheduled since leaving WWE. The Japanese wrestler will take part in the seventh edition of Chris Jericho's Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea, which will take place from November 7 to 11.
