WWE SmackDown Live Coverage: October 23, 2026

WWE SmackDown is now underway on Netflix!

The show opens with a recap video of the confrontation between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn on Monday Night Raw.

Sami Zayn, Johnny Gargano, and Candice LeRae are the ones who kick off this week's episode. The fans greet them with boos. With a microphone in hand, Sami describes the fans as haters. He then recalls his encounter with Roman Reigns last Monday. Sami admits that he has been thinking a lot about something the Samoan said: the championship makes the man. "All of this got me thinking: well, who's 'The Man' around here?"

Zayn insists that the Alpha Male isn't the strongest, as most people tend to believe, but the smartest one—the person who always finds a way to survive. "And that's me," he declares. "There are 8 billion people on this planet, but there's only one WWE Champion, and that's me! There's only one man that everyone, everyone back there—CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Gunther, Finn Bálor—all of them have in their sights, and that's me!" he adds. The Canadian then makes it clear that he won't allow anyone to disrespect him, and that includes Roman Reigns and Penta, who now wants to meddle in his business. And, of course, everyone in attendance in Ontario.

Rey Fenix interrupts the segment!

The AAA Cruiserweight Champion makes his way to the ring. "Sami, my friend, I already told you last week. I don't know what my brother is going to do. I don't know if he's going to cash in on Roman Reigns or if he's going to do it on you," he says. "And another thing, Sami. You and I have never had any problems, right? Are we still friends? I have a problem with Ricky Saints, but whatever. The thing is, Penta is my brother. And if you disrespect my family, we're going to have a problem, my friend," Rey Fenix says as he confronts Zayn. Gargano tries to intervene, but Sami stops him. Zayn makes it clear that he has no problem with Rey Fenix, whom he has always respected. He simply believes that Penta should focus on someone else, like Roman Reigns. "You and I don't have a problem. My problem is with people who disrespect me week after week, show after show," Zayn says.

Trick Williams interrupts the segment!

Williams admits that he has a problem with Zayn. Trick points out that last week, the Canadian did nothing but lie about him. However, he also told one truth: that Williams doesn't know how to survive. If Zayn was trying to intimidate him, he failed, because surviving isn't what he needs to do. "I don't feel the need to survive. Look at me. United States Champion. I've been on ESPN and in People magazine. I've married the coolest girl in all of sports. I'm not here to survive. Trick Williams is here to thrive!" he exclaims.

Williams heads into the ring while recalling his major accomplishments in just 10 months on the main roster, including defeating the Canadian at WrestleMania. Trick insists that Sami still doesn't understand what this business is all about. That's why he doesn't look like a real champion. Not like him. "When it comes to being a champion, Sami Zayn, I'm the veteran and you're the rookie!" Williams exclaims. "So, how about we cut the chatter and you give me a title match?" he adds.

Zayn genuinely believes that Trick isn't afraid of him, although he should be. Sami claims that he could humiliate him on the microphone at any moment. However, he won't do that because he's a good guy. Zayn wants him to enjoy this great moment because it will soon come to an end. At some point, the fans will stop supporting him because they will reach the logical conclusion that Trick doesn't have what it takes. "In case you haven't noticed, you're swimming in deep waters right now. And yes, I may not be the biggest shark in the ocean, but I promise you one thing, Trick Shot: nothing has sharper teeth than me! So no. You're nowhere near earning a shot at the WWE Championship." the Canadian says.

Williams asks Zayn where those sharp teeth were when he took the United States Championship from him. Moreover, maybe he hasn't made himself clear: he's not asking for a title match. He's demanding one. Trick approaches the Canadian. Gargano steps in, only for Williams to grab him by the throat. Zayn takes advantage of the situation to punch the United States Champion. Sami, Johnny, and LeRae leave the ring.

At that moment, Nick Aldis appears on the entrance ramp. The General Manager points out that he has a problem with this situation. Aldis also reminds Sami that he doesn't have the authority to make matches, but he does. That's why tonight, Zayn and Gargano will face Williams and Rey Fenix in a tag team match. With that announcement, the opening segment of the night comes to an end.

WWE Women's Championship Match
Chelsea Green (c) vs. Roxanne Perez

Both women grapple to get the match underway. "Chelsea! Chelsea!" the fans chant. Perez and Green exchange holds, blocks, and reversals as they look for a quick victory. Roxy slaps Green to mock her. The champion responds with a slap of her own, followed by a neckbreaker. 1...2...NO. Chelsea hits a dropkick to send the Texan out of the ring. Green then launches herself at her opponent with a suicide dive.

Chelsea brings her opponent back into the ring. Roxanne catches the champion off guard with a dropkick directly to one of her knees, throwing her off balance. She then sends her crashing into one of the turnbuckles. Perez kicks the Canadian's left arm and continues to punish her at ringside. Roxanne brings Green back into the ring to keep targeting her opponent's injured arm. Perez hits a Satomura Special on Green. 1...2...NO.

Roxy traps Chelsea in a Camel Clutch. Green summons her strength to get back to her feet. She then drops backward onto the mat, forcing Perez to release the hold. Chelsea kicks Roxanne before climbing to the top of one of the turnbuckles. Perez wastes no time going after the champion. Green escapes her opponent and hits a superplex. Both women lie sprawled on the mat. Green continues her assault on "The Prodigy," taking her down with a flatliner.

Perez blocks an Unprettier and counters with a roll-up. 1...2...NO. Roxanne distracts the referee while Green climbs one of the turnbuckles. Suddenly, Raquel Rodriguez appears on the scene and knocks Chelsea off the turnbuckle. Rodriguez hides beside the steel steps to avoid being spotted by the official. Miraculously recovered, Roxanne finishes off the champion with a Shining Wizard. 1...2...NO.

IYO SKY appears on the scene to take out Raquel!

Furious, Perez launches herself at the Japanese star with a suicide dive. "The Prodigy" returns to the ring, where she dodges Green's superkick. Roxanne kicks Chelsea in the stomach to set up her Pop Rox, but the champion blocks it and counters with a decisive Unprettier. 1...2...3.

Winner and STILL WWE Women's Champion: Chelsea Green

Liv Morgan storms the ring to attack Green!

IYO enters the ring intending to help Chelsea, but she is outnumbered and cannot do much against the women of The Judgment Day. Suddenly, Tiffany Stratton storms onto the scene!

Tiffany sends Roxanne out of the ring. SKY hits a Missile Dropkick on Rodriguez, who also ends up outside the ring. Morgan picks up the Money in the Bank briefcase, intending to strike Stratton from behind, but her potential victim moves out of the way just in time. Chelsea, IYO, and Tiffany take turns hitting Liv, who eventually gets struck with the briefcase. Stratton calls for the referee, intending to cash in her briefcase on Morgan, but Raquel and Roxanne get their teammate to safety, foiling Miss Money in the Bank's plans. The Judgment Day members retreat up the entrance ramp, bringing this segment to an end.

Chelsea Green, IYO SKY, and Tiffany Stratton talk in the venue's parking lot. "IYO, thank you so much for coming to SmackDown to help me," says the Canadian. "Of course, I've got your back," replies "The Genius of Sky." "I feel like this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. One I've never had before," Green declares. The WWE Women's Champion also thanks Stratton, whom she wasn't expecting to see tonight. Tiffany admits that she couldn't wait to see the look of concern on Liv Morgan's face when she cashed in her briefcase on her and became the new Women's World Champion. Chelsea hopes that happens, but first things first—it's time to celebrate! "Let's go get some martinis," Green says as the segment comes to an end.

Street Fight
Giulia vs. Blake Monroe

Giulia goes after Monroe and attacks her on the entrance ramp. The referee calls for the bell. Giulia continues to pummel Blake. "The Beautiful Madness" throws her opponent toward a neatly arranged pile of steel chairs beside the ring. The Brit stops just in time to avoid crashing into them. Monroe lifts the ring apron to grab a kendo stick.

Giulia approaches Blake, only for Monroe to surprise her with an eye poke. Monroe unleashes a barrage of kendo stick shots on her blinded opponent. Blake hits a dropkick on Giulia, sending her crashing into the barricade. A confident Blake poses on top of the barricade. Giulia grabs Monroe by the foot, causing her to fall onto the barricade and injure her groin. Giulia follows up with a big boot.

Giulia brings Blake back into the ring. She then lifts the ring apron to retrieve a kendo stick. "The Beautiful Madness" bends down to look for something else. At that moment, "The Glamour" catches her from behind. Monroe repeatedly smashes Giulia's head against the ring apron. Blake tries to throw Giulia into the pile of chairs, but it is the Italian-Japanese star who ends up shoving her opponent into them.

Giulia piles the chairs on the floor before going after Blake, but Monroe is waiting for her. Monroe takes Giulia down before heading toward the steel steps and shifting them a few inches. Blake goes after Giulia, but Giulia greets her with a trash can. Giulia brings Monroe back into the ring. However, as "The Beautiful Madness" attempts to get back inside, her opponent catches her with a kick. 1...2...NO.

Blake traps Giulia in an STF, using the kendo stick to reinforce the hold. Giulia breaks free. She then picks up the kendo stick and wastes no time using it against her opponent. Giulia hits a Russian Leg Sweep with the kendo stick. Next, she places the trash can over her opponent's upper body and proceeds to repeatedly strike it with the kendo stick. Dazed by the thunderous blows, Monroe escapes to ringside.

Giulia quickly follows her to continue the assault. Blake catches her opponent with a knee strike before throwing her into the venue's video screen. Both women take the fight backstage. Monroe grabs a can of spray from a makeup station and sprays its contents into Giulia's eyes. Blinded, Giulia writhes in pain on the floor. Blake takes advantage of the moment to admire herself in a mirror. A recovered Giulia shoves the Brit into the mirror, shattering it.

Giulia leads Blake back toward the ring. Monroe surprises "The Beautiful Madness" with a headbutt. The Brit crawls toward the ring. Giulia charges at her to deliver an Arrivederci. Giulia brings Monroe into the ring, where she hits a Missile Dropkick. She then crushes her opponent's head with a devastating Stomp. 1...2...NO. Giulia cannot believe it. Monroe rolls out to ringside.

Giulia follows her. "We want tables!" the fans chant. Standing on the steel steps, Giulia encourages the crowd to keep chanting. Suddenly, Blake surprises her by spraying the contents of a fire extinguisher directly into her face. Blake traps Giulia on the steel steps and delivers a superplex onto the chairs previously stacked on the floor. Monroe brings Giulia back into the ring and attempts to finish her off. Giulia fights back, but eventually falls victim to a Beauty Shot. 1...2...3.

Winner: Blake Monroe

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. The fans greet him with a huge ovation. "Randy! Randy!" the crowd chants. With a microphone in hand, "The Viper" addresses Cody Rhodes directly, saying from the bottom of his heart that he is proud of him... because he never thought Cody would have the guts to kick someone in the head. Orton is convinced that Rhodes could kick any talent in the head. However, that doesn't matter, because if he ever had the chance to kick Cody in the head, he would hesitate again.

Cody Rhodes appears on the scene!

Rhodes heads toward the ring but soon encounters Nick Aldis, Jason Jordan, and Shawn Daivari. Cody assures them that he won't cause any trouble. "The American Nightmare" enters the ring and asks for a microphone. Rhodes wonders when Orton became a coward. There was a time when he was known as "The Apex Predator." So why is Cody standing right in front of him without the slightest hint of fear?

Rhodes reminds the fans that they are in the presence of "The Legend Killer." "That's right. You kill things. I've seen you kick and end them. I've seen you kill. You kick and end people like your own mentor, Triple H. And then I've seen you kill every chance you had of becoming the face of this company. I've seen you kick and end a legend like Shawn Michaels. But then I've seen you kill every chance you had of being considered a professional. I've seen you kick and end my own father. But then I've seen you throw away your chance to reach that big 15. Look at your entire OVW class, Randy. You're the last one standing," Cody says.

Rhodes recalls the Punt Kick he received from Orton at WrestleMania 42. What happened next? Cody walked out of the ring under his own power and returned to television a week later with his eye still swollen. Orton, on the other hand, stayed home licking his wounds. Cody believes the time for talking is over. Rhodes knows they both want to get down to business once and for all, so he suggests they fight right here and now. Jason Jordan and Shawn Daivari enter the ring to prevent a brawl. Aldis grabs a microphone to address Orton and Rhodes. Nick doesn't want either man to get injured, but he also knows this match needs to happen. "I'm sorry, Nick. Just because The Golden Boy wants to do this here and now doesn't mean it's going to happen," "The Viper" says.

Aldis then proposes that the match take place at WWE Crown Jewel. Rhodes accepts the proposal but has one request. "I'll fight Randy Orton. But it won't be just a regular match. Last Man Standing!" "The American Nightmare" exclaims. Orton approaches Rhodes. "All right. You and me. Crown Jewel. Last Man Standing. But remember this, Cody. You asked for it," "The Viper" says before leaving the ring. And with that, the segment comes to an end.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match
Tatum Paxley and Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Michin and B-Fab (with Jade Cargill)

Alexa and B-Fab start the match. B-Fab shoves Bliss, who responds with several slaps. Furious, B-Fab unleashes a flurry of attacks on Alexa. B-Fab throws Bliss into one of the turnbuckles, where she hits a spinning kick. B-Fab brings her opponent down to the mat and finishes the sequence with a sliding clothesline. 1...2...NO. Alexa catches B-Fab in a sleeper hold. Without releasing her opponent, Bliss tags in Paxley.

Alexa hits a dropkick on B-Fab before assisting Tatum, who launches herself into a corner crossbody. Paxley follows up with a knee strike directly to the face. 1...2...NO. B-Fab sends Tatum out of the ring, only for the champion to immediately surprise her with an enzuigiri, using the ring apron for leverage. Michin tries to catch Paxley off guard, but Tatum sends her crashing to ringside. Tatum climbs onto the apron and hits a standing moonsault on Michin.

Paxley returns to the ring to continue the match against B-Fab, but Michin catches her with a chop block. The challengers take turns attacking Tatum. B-Fab kicks Paxley with a big boot before taking her down with a clothesline. 1...2...NO. B-Fab hits a powerslam on Tatum. She then assists her partner, allowing Michin to hit a moonsault on the champion. 1...2...NO.

Michin uses the ropes to inflict more punishment on Paxley. Michin traps the champion in a headlock. Tatum tries to break free but is taken down with a release German suplex. Paxley returns the favor by hitting Michin with the same move. Tatum kicks Michin with an enzuigiri. Both women lie sprawled on the mat. Paxley and Michin crawl toward their respective corners to tag in their partners.

Alexa comes in firing on all cylinders. Bliss takes B-Fab down before slapping her repeatedly. Alexa follows up with a Bow Down to the Queen. 1...2...NO. Bliss prepares to hit a Sister Abigail, but B-Fab blocks it. Alexa gets rid of B-Fab with a hurricanrana before hitting a DDT on Michin. Bliss climbs one of the turnbuckles. Alexa tags in Tatum before launching herself at B-Fab with a diving crossbody.

Michin catches Bliss with a dropkick. Alexa ends up at ringside. Paxley now catches Michin with a spinning heel kick. Tatum climbs up high to attempt a 450 Splash. Michin dodges it, only to take a headbutt. Paxley prepares to hit a Cemetery Driver, but Michin blocks the move by grabbing the ropes. Michin dodges a charging Tatum and sends her into the ropes. She then distracts the referee by pretending to be hurt. Jade takes advantage of the situation to surprise Tatum with a right hand. Michin stops pretending and grabs Paxley, finishing her off with a Styles Clash. 1...2...3.

Winners and NEW WWE Women's Tag Team Champions: B-FAB and MICHIN

Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab pose in the center of the ring. Fireworks light up the venue in honor of the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

Cathy Kelley interviews Trick Williams outside Nick Aldis' office. Williams announces that the General Manager has granted him a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship, which will take place next week. Rey Fenix appears on the scene to remind Trick that they have a tag team match tonight. The two men shake hands before leaving to prepare for the match. Kelley says goodbye to both men. As she turns around, the interviewer comes face-to-face with Damian Priest, who stares sternly in the direction Trick and Rey Fenix have taken. He then looks at Aldis' office door. Damian shakes his head before looking straight ahead again. And with that, the segment comes to an end.

Tag Team Match
Bakusai (Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki) vs. MFT (Talla Tonga and Tama Tonga) (with Haku)

Talla, Tama, and Haku wait in the ring for their opponents to arrive. Bakusai's entrance music plays throughout the venue, but only Nakamura appears on the entrance ramp. We see Kyoki approaching the ring from the opposite side, away from the entrance ramp. Kyoki grabs Haku's staff, which was leaning against one of the turnbuckles. Kyoki runs alongside his partner with the stolen weapon. Nakamura swings the staff to taunt the Tongans, who waste no time going after them.

Shinsuke strikes Talla in the stomach with the staff, but he is unable to avoid a sneak attack from Tama. All four men break into a brawl on the entrance ramp. Several referees and officials rush onto the scene to separate them, but they can barely keep the men under control. And with that, the segment comes to an end.

Match did not take place

We see a pre-recorded video. In it, Nick Aldis reviews the ongoing rivalry between CM Punk and Kevin Owens. In light of everything that has happened over the past few weeks, the General Manager has decided to schedule a match to put an end to this story once and for all. The match will take place on the blue brand's show in Brooklyn two weeks from now. Having made the announcement, Aldis asks both men to join him. They take seats facing each other.

CM Punk considers this match a waste of time and believes he should be preparing to face Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel as the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, that won't be possible because Owens cost him the championship. Kevin insists that CM Punk is wrong, as Punk was the one who cost him his chance to win the title when he had Sami Zayn practically beaten. Owens makes it clear that he isn't happy with this situation, as he never wanted to look him in the face again after what happened 20 years ago.

CM Punk, for his part, criticizes the Canadian for his passive-aggressive attitude over the past two decades. Kevin insists that he doesn't like this situation. After what happened at Money in the Bank, Owens considered this rivalry over. He simply made sure that CM Punk couldn't retrieve the briefcase containing a championship contract. Having accomplished his goal, he assumed the matter had been settled. But then CM Punk asked for another match.

Owens has realized that dealing with CM Punk turns him into exactly the kind of person he doesn't want to become: a miserable human being. "You don't know me. We've never sat down and talked. We've never had a cup of coffee. We've never had a meal together. We've never done anything," says "The Best in the World." Owens doesn't need any of that. He knows people who have been close to Punk, and they all agree that he is a detestable person. The two men continue arguing until Aldis interrupts them. The General Manager decides they've had enough and tells them both to show up in two weeks for their scheduled match. "I'm going to leave this guy lying on the mat in Brooklyn, you piece of trash!" CM Punk exclaims before walking away. "It seems like he cares more than he wants to let on," Kevin tells Nick before leaving. Aldis once again reminds everyone that the match will take place in two weeks. And with that, the video comes to an end.

Tag Team Match
Sami Zayn and Johnny Gargano (with Candice LeRae) vs. Trick Williams and Rey Fenix

Sami and Trick start the match... or so it seemed. Zayn decides to tag in Gargano before even making contact with the United States Champion. Trick quickly takes Johnny down with a shoulder tackle. He then points at Zayn, reiterating his desire to face the Canadian. Sami tags himself in. At that moment, Ricky Saints appears out of nowhere and knocks Rey Fenix off the apron. "The Absolute" unleashes a barrage of attacks on the Mexican at ringside. The referee decides to end the match.

Winners by disqualification: Trick Williams and Rey Fenix

Saints continues attacking Rey Fenix while Gargano and Sami kick Williams in one of the corners. Suddenly... Penta appears on the scene!

Mr. Money in the Bank rushes toward the ring to drive the heels away. They prepare to retreat, but Penta has other plans. "Hey, Sami! And you idiots! Why don't we have a six-man tag team match right now?!" Penta exclaims. The heels try to return to the ring, but Trick, Penta, and Rey Fenix strike them and send them crashing down. The two masked Mexican stars launch themselves at their opponents with simultaneous tope con giros. The brawl quickly spills over to ringside. Trick attacks Saints beside the barricade while Penta and Rey Fenix throw Sami into Gargano.

Rey Fenix blocks a suplex, but he cannot avoid an enzuigiri. Gargano sends Rey Fenix into the ropes, but the Mexican uses them to his advantage and counters with a rebound spinning heel kick. Both men end up sprawled on the mat. Rey Fenix reaches his corner and tags in Penta.

Mr. Money in the Bank enters the match firing on all cylinders. Penta catches Gargano with a spinning backbreaker before stopping an attack from Saints with a superkick. Penta challenges Zayn to enter the ring. The Canadian wastes no time doing so, only to take a superkick directly to one of his legs. Penta follows up with a facebuster. Penta turns his attention back to Gargano and hits him with a Pendulum. 1...2...NO. Saints breaks up the pinfall.

Rey Fenix sends Saints out of the ring before launching himself at him with a diving crossbody from the top rope. Meanwhile, Mr. Money in the Bank dodges an attack from Johnny and counters with a Penta Driver. 1...2...NO. Penta prepares to hit a Mexican Destroyer, but Gargano stops him with a superkick. The United States Champion prepares to finish Sami off but fails to notice that Saints has just tagged himself in. Williams hits a Trick Shot. Zayn dodges it, causing Trick to crash into the turnbuckle. Ricky then catches Williams and hits a tornado DDT. 1...2...NO. Rey Fenix breaks up the pinfall.

The match descends into chaos. Zayn hits an exploder suplex on Penta before setting up for his Helluva Kick. Sami charges toward the Mexican, but Trick intercepts him with a clothesline. Williams follows up with a Trick Shot. Trick prepares to cover him, forgetting that Saints is the legal competitor. "The Absolute" catches the United States Champion from behind and rolls him up. 1...2...NO. Williams stops Ricky's clothesline and counters with a uranage. 1...2...3.

Winners: Rey Fenix, Trick Williams, and Penta

The winning team poses by the ropes while Zayn and Gargano recover beside the commentary table. Sami raises the Undisputed WWE Championship while pointing at Williams. Trick climbs onto one of the turnbuckles to pose for the fans, who are chanting "Whoop that Trick!" Meanwhile, Zayn climbs onto the commentary table. This image brings this week's episode to a close.
