Asuka has announced that she will serve as the chief of a police station for one day in Osaka, Japan, while she remains away from WWE programming. The former women's champion will take part in a special event organized by local authorities on November 27, during which she will have the opportunity to meet fans and hand out signed items.
The news comes at a time of uncertainty regarding the Japanese wrestler's future in WWE, where she has not competed since her loss to IYO SKY at Backlash 2026, held last May.
Asuka herself confirmed the news through her official X account, where she explained that on Friday, November 27, she will symbolically assume the role of chief of the Oyodo Police Station, located in Osaka's Kita Ward.
This is a temporary honorary appointment linked to a public event and does not represent a permanent position within the Japanese police force.
The wrestler also invited her followers to take part in the event, which will include the distribution of promotional items and an autograph session.
On Friday, November 27, I will serve as the chief of the Oyodo Police Station for one day in Osaka's Kita Ward. In addition to handing out police-related items signed by me, I will also sign anything you bring. If you would like to take part, leave a comment on this post.
The event will take place at the Kita Ward Civic Center in Osaka and will begin in the morning. The exact time has yet to be confirmed. With this initiative, Asuka will make a special public appearance in her hometown, where she will be able to reconnect with fans outside the usual professional wrestling environment.
The announcement comes while there is still no known date for Asuka's return to a WWE ring. Her last televised appearance took place at Backlash 2026, where she was defeated by IYO SKY. Since then, the Japanese wrestler has remained off WWE programming, an absence that has sparked speculation about her contractual status and professional future.
However, Asuka has not confirmed that her participation in the police event is related to her WWE absence, nor has she provided any new details regarding when she could return to competition.
For now, the November 27 event will offer fans another opportunity to see her in public, albeit in a completely different setting from her usual WWE appearances.
