Taya Valkyrie is no longer part of the All Elite Wrestling roster. This was announced by the wrestler's team through an official statement published on social media. According to the statement, "after a period of reflection and several discussions with her team, Valkyrie has officially decided to become a free agent after declining an offer to extend her contract with All Elite Wrestling."
Taya wanted to send a message of gratitude to the All Elite Wrestling team for opening its doors to her and supporting her throughout the most recent chapter of her professional career. However, she now needs to explore new opportunities in the next chapter of her journey.
"I'm incredibly grateful for all the time I've spent in AEW and for the opportunity to be part of this organization. During this time, I've had the opportunity to wrestle and work alongside exceptional talent, as well as build lasting bonds within the AEW family and further strengthen my relationships with the wrestling community," Taya wrote.
"I'm deeply grateful to the fans for their continued support, not only throughout my time in AEW but also now as I begin this new chapter of my career as a free agent," she continued. "I can't wait to see what lies ahead, and I still have so much more to offer in the ring. Now that my contract has come to an end, I'm excited to explore new opportunities and possibilities as a wrestler, television personality, and creative professional."
Taya Valkyrie's run in AEW began in March 2023, when she made her Dynamite debut by confronting Jade Cargill, who was the TBS Champion at the time. Her arrival generated considerable excitement due to her experience in IMPACT Wrestling, AAA, and MLW. However, her first few months were marked by several unsuccessful attempts to capture the TBS Championship, first against Cargill and later against Kris Statlander, as well as an opportunity to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship. Despite her experience and international recognition, she never managed to establish herself among the leading names in AEW's women's division.
She found more consistent opportunities in Ring of Honor, although without achieving any major individual success. She made her debut in December 2023 and competed in the inaugural Women's World Television Championship tournament in 2024, where she lost to Queen Aminata in the second round. She later teamed up with Deonna Purrazzo under the name The Vendetta and, in 2025, joined MxM TV alongside her husband Johnny TV and MxM Collection. Her most recent match in ROH took place in January 2026, when she teamed up with Mansoor and Mason Madden to face The Infantry in a mixed trios match.
