WWE has decided to leave behind its traditional post-premium event press conferences in favor of a new format: a live post-show with an audience, well-produced segments, and a much more dynamic pace. The debut took place at SummerSlam and is already receiving great praise, especially from the team of the Cheap Heat podcast, hosted by Peter Rosenberg, one of the regular figures appearing on the post-show of these events.

During the program, panelist Diperstein stated that the change is a total success: “This beats the old format by a thousand. It’s a formal, produced show with timed segments that feels good and keeps the energy up.”

Peter Rosenberg explained that the old press conferences completely killed the excitement: “We were all euphoric talking about the event and suddenly... ‘let’s go to the press conference.’ You’d go into a quiet room with twenty people pretending to be press. The magic was gone.”

For Rosenberg, the big success of the new post-show is that it keeps the fans’ enthusiasm alive at the key moment: “The moment fans most want to talk about wrestling is right after the event. This format is the perfect fit.”

Co-host Stat Guy Greg pointed out that while fans seem delighted, some members of the wrestling media miss being able to ask their questions. However, he acknowledged that most fans weren’t really interested in those press conferences, joking that the new format feels like a “Thunderdome” version of the post-event.

It’s worth noting that the change from press conferences comes after Brock Lesnar’s return to programming. Many fans commented after SummerSlam that the removal of the format could be related to Lesnar and the potential sensitive questions that might have arisen about it.
