Since his arrival in All Elite Wrestling in 2023, Adam Copeland had been locked in an intense rivalry with his longtime friend Christian Cage, facing off multiple times over the TNT Championship. Now, the legendary team has decided to put their differences aside and join forces once again to take on Cage’s former protégés.
A month ago at All In Texas, Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian grew tired of Christian Cage’s mistreatment and betrayed him, attacking him mercilessly. That’s when Adam Copeland made his highly anticipated return. Although he came out to “defend” Christian, he made it clear that Cage deserved what happened to him for being a selfish person who only thought about himself.
However, in recent weeks, the desire for revenge against FTR, Kip Sabian, and Nick Wayne began to bring them back together. Tonight, as Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood brutally attacked Copeland, Christian Cage unexpectedly ran out to defend his former friend. After dealing with their enemies, Cage handed his weapon to Copeland, seemingly trying to earn his trust.
With that gesture, as Christian Cage walked away, Adam Copeland grabbed him and gave him a strong hug, confirming the reunion of their team. Later, it was announced that the duo will compete in a tag team match at Forbidden Door. This will be their first time working together in AEW, as the last time they teamed up was in 2011 during WWE Monday Night Raw.
