Professional wrestling has numerous legends that have marked eras and won over fans. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Sting, and John Cena are just a few of them. However, for Tony Khan, president of All Elite Wrestling, there is one in particular he would have liked to work with. He explained this in a recent appearance on The Superstar Crossover.

"Steve Austin. If you could have Steve Austin in the 90s and just have him throughout the entire decade of the 90s, he would be the greatest of all time. He's a great person. I love Steve Austin. He was very kind to me, I haven't seen him in a long time. He was very generous in inviting me to his show after the first Double or Nothing, and I am one of his biggest fans. I believe Steve Austin is the greatest wrestling star of all time," Khan said.

"If you could choose anyone from any era, and you had Steve Austin with you throughout the 90s -even though his character evolved from Stunning Steve to Superstar Steve, then to The Ringmaster and finally to Stone Cold Steve Austin- he is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time," he added.

"If I had ever had the luck to work with any version of Steve Austin, especially in the 90s or early 2000s, I would have considered myself very fortunate. I already consider myself very fortunate for many reasons, but also for having met Steve Austin and having had a good chat with him. In fact, he was very positive about the first Double or Nothing. I was on his show after the first Double or Nothing in 2019, more than six years ago, and he was incredibly positive about the event. And I believe he is the greatest wrestling star of all time," reiterated the president of AEW.

After returning to action one last time at WrestleMania 38, where he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred Match, there has been much speculation about the possibility of Austin competing once again at the grand event. The name that is most strongly rumored as his hypothetical opponent is CM Punk, in what would be a dream match for both "The Best in the World" and the fans. Only time will tell if "The Rattlesnake" will step into the ring again to put an end to a legendary career.
