WWE confirms El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Dominik Mysterio at Worlds Collide

WWE has confirmed the first match of Worlds Collide, the event that will take place on September 12th at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Through its social media, the company has shown a video of Dominik Mysterio confirming the match officially.

In the video, Dominik Mysterio complains about AJ Styles' interference in Triplemanía and blames him for losing his match for the AAA Megachampionship. For that reason, Dominik challenges Hijo del Vikingo to a one-on-one match for the title at the next joint event between AAA and WWE. In the video, Rey Mysterio appears and tells his son to come back down to earth. You can watch it below.

Last weekend, in the main event of Triplemanía XXXIII, Hijo del Vikingo successfully defended the AAA Megachampionship against Dominik Mysterio, El Grande Americano, and Dragon Lee in a fatal four-way match. In the final moments, AJ Styles, Dominik Mysterio's current rival for the Intercontinental Championship, appeared masked and attacked Dominik, causing his defeat.

This will be a new opportunity for WWE to enhance Hijo del Vikingo, a wrestler who has the company's support but not the support of the Mexican audience, who mostly demand the return of the former megachampion, Alberto El Patrón. Supposedly, since the show is taking place in Las Vegas, Vikingo won't have to endure that pressure from the fans.
