In the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, Naomi put an end to all the rumors that had been circulating about her over the past week. After being unable to defend her title against IYO SKY last Monday, many speculated that the champion’s absence could be due to an injury. However, they were far from the truth.
During her appearance, Naomi asked to show an unreleased clip from the interview Stephanie McMahon conducted with her and her husband, Jimmy Uso. In it, the Samoan confirmed that the couple is expecting their first child together, much to the delight of all the fans. Afterwards, Naomi, staying in character, refused to hand her belt to Adam Pearce, whom she removed from the ring.
The segment, filled with humor and featuring a very emotional Naomi, ended with a warning to the rest of the women’s roster that the champion would return to reclaim her throne with her baby in her arms.
In recent hours, more details have emerged about how WWE will creatively handle this title relinquishment. First of all, as expected, Fightful confirmed that Naomi’s pregnancy has caused a lot of changes in WWE’s creative plans. While the specifics were not revealed, it was clear that the next challenger for the champion would be Stephanie Vaquer, whose title opportunity had been scheduled for Clash in Paris.
This unexpected absence of Naomi adds to Liv Morgan’s, making these months very unpredictable for the women’s main scene. It’s likely that wrestlers like Rhea Ripley or IYO SKY will remain in the title picture, but the open spots could be filled by wrestlers such as Asuka, Kairi Sane, Roxanne Perez, Lyra Valkyria, or Stephanie Vaquer herself.
Additionally, WWE reportedly had to accelerate the recording of the first Stephanie McMahon podcast with the couple to allow time to film the bonus episode where they talk about their future child.
Regardless of all the creative instability caused, the reality is that having a child was the biggest life goal for Naomi and Jimmy Uso. They confirmed this in the conversation with Stephanie McMahon, sharing that they had almost lost hope of conceiving their child naturally.
