Before Forbidden Door 2025, Hangman Adam Page appeared in the ring of AEW Dynamite with a clear message for MJF. Confident that the contract for his World Championship match would eliminate any traps, Page assured he would have a fair chance to defeat his rival. However, his confidence quickly faded.

MJF appeared in a video projected on the big screen. With a wicked smile, the challenger revealed that their match would not have the format Page expected. Alongside Ricochet and GoA, MJF had tied up and gagged Mark Briscoe, and he revealed to the champion his three requests for the match: that the title could change hands by disqualification, by a count of 10 outside the ring, and that he wouldn't have to use his contract.

MJF's cruel game continued when he took out a lighter and threatened to douse Mark Briscoe with fuel. Slowly counting to five, MJF gave Page a desperate ultimatum. Filled with rage, Hangman finally agreed when the count was at four, forced to give in to his rival's conditions to save his friend.

With the deal sealed, MJF congratulated Page for remaining a "hero," while a furious Hangman quickly exited the ring. In a fit of anger, Page attacked Ricochet with a chair and, after being stopped by security, continued his pursuit, making it clear that, although he was forced to play by MJF's rules, revenge is only a matter of time.
