This evening, AEW and NJPW held the 2025 edition of Forbidden Door, a show that featured great matches and memorable moments. In the night's semifinal match, "Hangman" Adam Page retained the World Championship against MJF, who despite having the advantage of several special stipulations, failed to take the title.

The match started with a fierce attack from Page, who cornered MJF with a flurry of punches and violently punished him outside the ring. However, Max's tricks soon appeared. The challenger took advantage of the referee's warning to Page about a chair to throw the champion into the post and after a surprising Piledriver on the edge of the ring, MJF almost took the victory.

Then Hangman surprised with a Moonsault that turned into a Piledriver and then a Deadeye onto a table at ringside. Despite receiving a strong blow that opened a cut on his face, the champion managed to return to the ring at the last second. In the final moments, MJF used a low blow and his Diamond Ring, achieving a three count that seemed definitive... until the referee noticed that Page's foot was on the rope.

The match resumed thanks to the intervention of Mark Briscoe, who stopped security so the referee could see Page's position. After an exchange of blows and tricks, MJF's desperation became evident when he tried to use his ring again, but the referee took it away. Hangman took advantage of the chaos, grabbed the contract that MJF had signed with the stipulations and hit him with it, sealing the contest with a Buckshot Lariat for the definitive victory.
