What started as an experiment with a certain reality TV show vibe has become a true third brand in WWE. We're talking about NXT, a show that over its fifteen-year history has undergone numerous changes: from its seasonal structure to the 2.0 version, not forgetting the beloved "Black and Gold" era.
Currently, the brand has established itself as one of the strongest in the wrestling scene, with one of the most acclaimed women's divisions worldwide, and a very dynamic episode development. Its director, Shawn Michaels, has found the formula to keep the brand fresh in recent years, turning its weekly shows into the best on television, as he stated in a recent interview with Justin Barrasso from Undisputed.
"I'd be lying if I said I don't believe we have the best two-hour program on television. It's the most exciting," Michaels said.
"The partnership with The CW is huge. They've been fantastic. We've had collaborations with NOAH, TNA, and AAA, but all our success is due to the athletes who walk through the doors of the Performance Center every day in Orlando. It's a testament to the work of our coaches, our creative team, and the entire production team at NXT," he added.
Currently, NXT maintains a close collaboration with TNA Wrestling, with talents from both brands regularly appearing on each other's shows. In fact, two NXT talents have held the top championships in TNA (Trick Williams and Jacy Jayne), adding more interest to the stories, which now unfold on two different shows.
