Vince McMahon continues to deal with the legal consequences of his car accident on July 24th, but now his legal team is attempting a decisive turn. As reported this morning by TMZ, his lawyer has requested the dismissal of the charges for reckless driving and following another vehicle too closely, which led to the collision.

Attorney Sherman stated that, if the judge accepts the motion, "a complete dismissal of the case would be guaranteed, but it would still allow Vince to convey contrition and concern for the other drivers, which is his top priority".

McMahon already had a preliminary hearing in Stamford, Connecticut, and his next legal step will be a hearing scheduled for October 16th. For now, the charges remain as misdemeanors.

The woman affected in the accident, Barbara Doran, shared a harsh account of what happened on Facebook. She stated that she was driving on the Merritt Parkway when McMahon's Bentley hit her at high speed, sending her car over 100 meters off the road. The driver explained that she was able to maintain control "by a miracle," although she suffered physical discomfort and had to undergo complete medical tests.

"I was lucky to survive a horrible car accident... Vince McMahon hit me and I was thrown over 100 meters. The officer later told me that, if he had hit me head-on, the outcome would have been very different for me."

According to Doran, an unmarked state trooper had been following McMahon for a while due to erratic driving and was about to pull him over when the collision occurred. Images posted by the victim herself show both vehicles destroyed, with the Bentley's front wheels torn off and the airbags deployed.
