Vince McMahon turned 80 on August 24th and celebrated with a private party in New York that brought together several of the biggest figures in WWE history. Among the guests were The Undertaker, John Cena, JBL, Sheamus, The Miz, Drew McIntyre, and legends like Gerald Brisco and Sgt. Slaughter. Bruce Prichard and his wife, longtime allies of the former WWE chairman, also attended.

The event was organized with the utmost discretion. The intention was for nothing about the celebration to leak, but several images ended up surfacing. In fact, Jerry Lawler posted a photo with The Miz, Maryse, McIntyre, Sheamus, and Titus O'Neil, although he later deleted it after receiving requests to do so.

According to Fightful Select, many WWE talents felt that attending was a way to settle unfinished business with the man who provided them with a global platform: "Many here still feel they owe Vince something, even though he has more than recouped the money he invested in them," one anonymous attendee noted.

However, not everyone accepted the invitation. Some wrestlers preferred to stay on the sidelines and wait for the legal process to progress regarding the allegations of sexual assault, trafficking, and harassment against McMahon. "If we were accused of what he's accused of, he would have fired us without hesitation," said a talent who chose not to attend.

Those who were present said McMahon appeared more fragile and "for the first time, really looked his age." It was the first time in years that many talents had seen him in person since his abrupt return and subsequent departure after WrestleMania 39 in 2023. Neither Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, nor Nick Khan attended, and close sources claim that WWE had no official involvement in the event.

As of today, the company has no intention of bringing McMahon back into any creative or executive role. However, his 80th birthday party demonstrates that he still has the support and loyalty of some of those closest to him.
