AEW Dynamite celebrated a special edition from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia that not only advanced the stories towards All Out, but also saw the return of one of its most anticipated stars. Hook returned to the company's programming after months of absence, in what was the big surprise of the night.
After defeating Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley left with his teammates Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta. It was the latter who took the microphone to address Darby Allin. In a challenging tone, Yuta made it clear that Darby's challenge had been rejected: "Jon Moxley will not waste his breath answering you. The answer is no."
Wheeler's speech continued with a demand: for the show to stop until he finished speaking. The wrestler recalled that he broke his bones in that same arena when he was young, only for the same fans to insult him now. Yuta stated that the support of the audience is worthless, citing the injuries of Will Ospreay, Chuck Taylor, and Bryan Danielson as examples.
Before Wheeler could continue his speech, the lights went out. A new music played, and an "H" in the shadows announced the long-awaited return of Hook. The wrestler immediately returned to action, attacking Yuta and leaving him lying on the mat, thus confirming his return to the company after months of absence.
