On the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jade Cargill, aired on August 29 on Netflix and USA Network, Jade Cargill was officially announced as the number one contender for the WWE Women's Championship. The challenger appeared backstage to confront the champion Tiffany Stratton, reigniting a rivalry that had its first chapter at SummerSlam.
The verbal exchange between both was intense. Cargill claimed to be on a higher level than the champion, while Stratton attributed part of her rival's success to herself and reminded her that she remains undefeated in 2025, including the victory she obtained over her at the summer's grand event.
The storyline justification for this opportunity came after last week's tag team match, where Stratton and Cargill joined forces to defeat Becky Lynch and Nia Jax. It was precisely Cargill who sealed the victory by getting the three count on Jax, an achievement that opened the doors for her title match.
For now, WWE has not announced the date of the match, but everything points to it being one of the most anticipated clashes in the women's division in the coming months. It is likely that a match between the two wrestlers will happen again at Wrestlepalooza or Crown Jewel.
