Eric Bischoff has earned the disdain of a good portion of the fans of All Elite Wrestling. The former WCW president has criticized the product of Tony Khan on multiple occasions, going as far as describing him as a rich kid with expensive toys. Through his podcast, Bischoff has continuously attacked Khan for some of his business and creative decisions, asserting that he is not a good booker.

This is an opinion he still holds, and in the most recent episode of 83 Weeks, he wanted to elaborate on it a bit more, comparing Khan's work to that of Dixie Carter, former leader of TNA Wrestling, who was also heavily criticized by fans of the Anthem Media company at the time.

"Well, I think the question was: who is the better booker? Although Dixie did not aspire to be perceived as the main booker of TNA, at least she was aware of what she didn't know and brought in people to do that job. That's why I believe she is a better booker than Tony Khan, because she recognized her weaknesses and tried to surround herself, at different times, with different people to operate in that world. On the other hand, Tony thinks he is a good booker, and clearly he is not," he said.

"Tony Khan is not aware of what he doesn't know. Despite the obvious data - considering that, as I understand it, Tony is a data analyst - one would think he would simply look at the numbers and say, 'Well, this sucks. It's not working, so I'm going to do something different.' Dixie would have done something different. Tony is not doing anything different. I think, in hindsight, Dixie was a better booker," he continued.

"If you look at the quality... well, you can debate about TNA and many people mocked TNA before, or still do, but I believe AEW would wish to have the quality of content that TNA had for a long time, before I arrived, while I was there, and even after. TNA has a bad reputation in many aspects, and some of it is deserved. But many others are not. Go back and watch some of those shows: there were great stories, great matches, a lot of top-tier talent.

AEW also has a lot of top-tier talent. The issue with AEW is not the talent. It's Tony Khan. Dixie understood that and didn't try to be the booker. She wanted to be perceived as the female version of Vince McMahon, so to speak, in the wrestling industry. There's nothing wrong with that; it was an ambitious goal. Tony Khan wants the same, but he is not willing to surround himself, or listen to the people he has already surrounded himself with, to help him achieve it," he concluded.
