The incident experienced by Rhea Ripley on the streets of Paris has also sparked outrage within the wrestling world. Her husband and AEW wrestler, Buddy Matthews, took to his social media to express his anger over the situation the former WWE champion faced when she was accosted by a group of fans in the French capital.

"It is absolutely disgusting to invade someone's personal space in this way," wrote Buddy Matthews on his personal X account. "Wake up and respect people's boundaries for once."

His statements come hours after Ripley recounted on X that she had been pushed against an Uber door and surrounded by dozens of fans. Initially, videos were posted from an angle that could not show that specific scene, but a new leaked video on social media has revealed that moment.

The episode took place this past weekend before Clash in Paris, an event that brought together over 30,000 spectators at La Défense Arena, and also highlighted the recurring issue of harassment towards wrestlers in public spaces. Ripley had already warned earlier this year about the invasion of her privacy, both through mails sent to her home and through instances of in-person harassment.

Rhea Ripley remains in Europe because this afternoon, on Monday Night Raw, she will be one of the main stars of the show. So far, she has not been assigned to any match or segment.
