WWE returns to the United States after a tour in Europe that has generated a lot of buzz. This Friday, the SmackDown roster will celebrate a new weekly episode at the iconic Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, and it seems like the show will feature several renowned stars.
The first one to be confirmed was John Cena, who, during the press conference after WWE Clash in Paris, announced his presence. The sixteen-time world champion defeated Logan Paul and now has his sights set on another goal before his retirement, which could very well be the anticipated match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, an event that will take place on September 20.
The Beast has been confirmed for September 12 and 19, but not for this Friday. It is not ruled out that Lesnar may make an appearance this Friday, but some portals indicate that this could happen, which would mean that we would be witnessing one of the episodes of SmackDown with the most stars in the same event.
In the last episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk relentlessly searched for Seth Rollins throughout the building. Finally, he was able to find him before the main event, but had to deal with Becky Lynch. After an uncomfortable moment with The Man, Punk encountered Adam Pearce backstage and hinted at his appearance in Chicago on Friday because he had an idea.
While CM Punk has not been confirmed to appear by WWE, it is almost certain that he will, given that Chicago is his home and the audience will fully support him. However, Seth Rollins is not a Raw superstar and is not expected, so it will be interesting to find out what CM Punk will do on SmackDown.
Some specialized portals in the United States have confirmed that AJ Lee's return to WWE is a fact. After Clash in Paris, CM Punk stood pensive on the entrance ramp, looking at a fan sign requesting his return. The way he did it clearly indicates that this will happen at any moment. Could the announcement of his return be this Friday on SmackDown? It is not ruled out.
