Taz received an emotional tribute at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, the legendary ECW stage, where he was officially inducted into the Hardcore Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, but it was not broadcast live during AEW Dynamite due to Taz's explicit request.

Tony Khan, President of All Elite Wrestling, explained in a video alongside Taz, that the commentator preferred the show to focus on AEW's current talent, and not on a tribute to his career. Khan pointed out that his intention was to televise the moment, but he decided to respect Taz's wishes.

Although the full ceremony has not yet been posted on social media or YouTube, the banner with Taz's name was displayed during Dynamite's broadcast. Taz himself thanked the gesture live, calling it "touching" and highlighting the support of Tony Khan and the Philadelphia fans.

Taz had been surprised with the announcement of his induction last week, at the beginning of AEW's several-week residency at the 2300 Arena. After the surprise, he requested that the ceremony be held this week so that more members of his family could be present.

Taz is considered one of the great legends of ECW, a company in which he became one of the cornerstones during the 90s. His tough style, full of suplexes and submissions, set him apart from other wrestlers and allowed him to solidify his nickname as "The Human Suplex Machine." Despite not being the tallest on the roster, Taz had an imposing presence and earned the respect of fans thanks to his credibility in the ring.

In 1997, Taz reached the pinnacle of the company by capturing the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, becoming one of the most remembered champions of the company. Additionally, he was a key figure in historic rivalries against wrestlers like Sabu, Shane Douglas, or Bam Bam Bigelow, matches that are still remembered by fans of ECW's golden era.

His time in Paul Heyman's company was also marked by the FTW Championship, a belt created specifically for him that symbolized his rebellious nature and his "against all odds" mentality. That unofficial title quickly became an emblem of his persona and remains a reference point in ECW's history.
