Will Ospreay will be out of action for an indefinite period to recover from a neck injury that will require surgery. The British wrestler has been dealing with this issue for some time while doctors advised him to undergo treatment to prevent further complications.

Finally, Ospreay heeded this advice and announced his temporary departure, not before competing for the last time in AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in front of his home country audience. Neither the company nor the wrestler have provided an approximate date for his return, but it is expected that the former International champion will remain sidelined for a long period of time.

This afternoon, Dave Meltzer provided an update on the case in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reporting that the surgery to repair two herniated discs will take place "in a few weeks". At the moment, it is unknown where and when the operation will be performed, but everything indicates that preparations are already underway.

Will Ospreay has become one of the most prominent and beloved figures in All Elite Wrestling even before he signed with the company. The British wrestler revealed his neck problem shortly after All In Texas. On the other hand, he assured that he would do everything necessary to be able to compete in Forbidden Door. Will also confessed that he had been dealing with issues for almost a year and had even lost sensation in one of his arms.

Despite everything, doctors assured him that his injury could not worsen before Forbidden Door, so he was allowed to participate in the event. Thus, the wrestler fulfilled his promise, competing in a Lights Out Steel Cage Match in the main event of the show. After the match, Ospreay was brutally attacked by Death Riders, and subsequently taken out on a stretcher. A storyline excuse to justify his absence from the company's television programming.
