Roxanne Perez relives her childhood by posing with AJ Lee

The latest edition of WWE Raw in Milwaukee left a very special moment for Roxanne Perez, who was able to share the dressing room with her childhood idol: AJ Lee. The former champion returned to television after her appearance on SmackDown, where it was confirmed that she will team up with CM Punk at Wrestlepalooza against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

During Monday night's event, Lee coincided with Perez backstage and together they recreated a famous photo from years ago, when a young Roxanne was thrilled to meet her role model. The image, shared by Perez on social media, reflects the admiration of the Raw star towards her new coworker. "I'm so good," she wrote next to several photos with AJ.

Over the years, the relationship between the two has solidified and Lee refers to Perez as one of her "wrestling daughters". The Judgment Day fighter has always expressed her desire to face AJ someday, something that now seems more possible than ever with the former champion's return to the ring. "I definitely try, yes," she said in 2024 about convincing Lee to come back. "But Punk tells me he's also trying, pulling for her. I hope one day she decides to come back and fight with me."

Wrestlepalooza will mark AJ Lee's return to action for the first time since her retirement in 2015. In addition to participating in the mixed tag match, WWE seems to be building towards a future individual showdown for the Women's Intercontinental Championship, with Becky Lynch defending the title against Lee.

As for Roxanne Perez, she has become one of the Raw stars who has gained more prominence with Liv Morgan's injury. Perez dreams of a match against AJ Lee in the future, although it is something that has not yet been discussed internally.
