WWE has intensified its strategy of counterprogramming PPV events with premium NXT events, and now with premium events from the main roster. The strategy, allegedly led by Nick Khan, President of WWE, has sparked a negative reaction in the community.

Bryan Danielson, currently working in AEW as a commentator, has shared his opinion on WWE's strategy in an interview for Kairouz Bros. Although the practice has puzzled fans, the wrestler believes it is not a matter of fear towards Tony Khan's company.

I'm curious to know what the people making these decisions are thinking. Do they really believe: 'Oh, okay, this thing called AEW is a real danger to our billion-dollar business'? It can't be that.

Danielson acknowledged that, financially, AEW is not yet at WWE's level, although he considers that WWE's corporate mentality may be more related to the desire for power and control than direct competition. "It's interesting, because we're not at the point of being a threat. It's one of those strange games played by people who crave power and lots of money, and that I don't understand," he pointed out.

The former world champion wanted to make it clear that he respects many of the people working at WWE and does not interpret this as a personal attack. However, he admitted that he is intrigued to know the reasoning behind those decisions. "I would like to know what the decision-making process is in this," he said.

The next clash between WWE and AEW will occur in two weeks, when AEW All Out and Wrestlepalooza will air on the same day. The clash led Tony Khan to decide to move up the schedule of the All Elite Wrestling show.
