WrestleMania 43, which will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027, aims to be an unprecedented event in WWE history. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Saudi authorities are willing to invest astronomical amounts of money to ensure that the show is the biggest and most star-studded of all time.
"They are putting an incredible amount of money, ridiculous. The idea is to present the show with the most stars in history, incomparable. Money is not a problem: any name you can think of, they will try to have it," Meltzer assured.
The difference from other editions is that Saudi Arabia will not only host the event, but also wants to directly influence the card. "They have matches in mind and are working very hard to get them. There are still a couple of years left, I don't know if they will achieve it, but they will spend whatever is necessary to make it happen," he explained.
This ambition even includes trying to bring back retired legendary figures. "Any name with media value, if they want to do it, they will receive a lot of money to be on this show. That's what they are looking for," he added. Possible candidates could include The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, or Stone Cold Steve Austin. Meltzer pointed out that he has not heard of matches being negotiated like Undertaker vs. Michaels or Rock vs. Austin, but he assumed that everyone will be contacted.
The show is part of the celebrations for the 300th anniversary of Saudi Arabia, with Turki Al-Alshikh leading the project. Meltzer described him as "the ultimate boss," with power even above Ari Emanuel and Nick Khan, thanks to the almost unlimited financial backing he manages.
It is worth noting that bizarre news has always come from Saudi Arabia regarding requests for WWE legends for shows. A rumor suggests that one of the Arab sheikhs asked Vince McMahon for superstars who had already passed away in real life. It remains to be seen if this time, the request is more in line with possibilities.
