All Elite Wrestling continues to accumulate important absences due to injuries or strategic breaks. According to Fightful, through their paid channel on Patreon, the current ROH World Champion, Athena, will take some time off the ring after surpassing the 1,000-day mark as champion.

Information from AEW sources indicates that Athena will be out for 5 to 6 weeks. It has not been specified if it is a specific injury, if she is simply dealing with hits and wear, or if the company has decided to give her a break after her historic reign as champion. The only confirmed thing is that, at least temporarily, we will not see "The Fallen Goddess" compete.

The news comes amid comments from Tony Khan, who this week acknowledged that he would love to organize a female version of the Continental Classic if the roster were completely healthy. The current absences are complicating those plans, and Athena's absence adds to an increasingly relevant list within the women's division.

Fightful Select learned from AEW sources that the ROH World Champion, Athena, will take some time off the ring action after reaching the 1,000-day mark as champion.

For now, there are no details on how this will affect ROH's programming or AEW's immediate plans, but Athena's reign seems to be taking a brief pause before continuing to make history.
