WWE held a press conference this afternoon from Las Vegas, Nevada, to announce WrestleMania 43, an event that will take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027. Joe Tessitore was the master of ceremonies, who was in charge of making the announcement. Before doing so, the WWE commentator introduced several legends and WWE superstars: The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, Logan Paul, and Seth Rollins.
Tessitore finally introduced Triple H, WWE's content director. The former heavyweight world champion recalled the company's progress in recent years and introduced one of his favorite partners, Turki Al-Sheikh, president of the General Entertainment Authority by Royal Decree. "For the first time, WrestleMania will be held outside of the United States and Canada," Triple H passionately expressed in front of the camera.
After the announcement, those present made statements about it, starting with The Undertaker, one of WWE's strongest connections to the Arab world, especially due to the expeditions that the Deadman undertook with Vince McMahon in the beginning. "I believe that WWE fans in general are known for their passion, the same passion that the people of Saudi Arabia have," commented The Undertaker, who highlighted the "kindness" of the Saudis.
Bianca Belair emphasized the experience of fighting in front of Saudi Arabian fans and pointed out that the country is a perfect place, specifically for women, to make history and show not only women and girls, but also young boys, what the product is like. The EST indicated that there are increasingly more women's matches and more images of women in promotions.
Triple H believes it is a unique opportunity to showcase WWE's product around the world and considers that Saudi Arabian fans deserve it, for being loyal in recent years and for the noise they generate, and the passion they have.
Turki Al-Sheikh also had a moment to speak and recalled how 8 years ago he met with Vince McMahon at his father's home to negotiate a deal that would change the business. He highlighted that he spoke with his "friend" Nick Khan, who ended up becoming President of WWE, to continue McMahon's legacy. Al-Sheikh emphasized the profits generated by the city of Las Vegas, something very important for Saudi Arabia to decide to invest in the product and bring WrestleMania to the Middle East.
