Less than a week ago, the news broke that WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler had suffered a stroke a few days earlier. The legend was scheduled to appear at the Horrorhound Weekend in Cincinnati, but TMZ Sports confirmed on the 11th that Lawler would ultimately not attend the event because he had suffered a stroke the previous Friday. Fortunately, Lawler had already been discharged from the hospital and was back home with his daughter.

Just a few hours ago, the wrestling legend made his first public appearance since this medical issue. In this case, it was on FOX News 13 Memphis, his hometown.

Regarding his stroke, Lawler revealed that there was a time during his hospital stay when he couldn't remember his family members and friends who were visiting him. "I remember lying in the hospital bed and when people I knew came in, like my family members, I didn't even recognize them. People kept showing up out of nowhere to thank me and pray for me, and all of that means a lot to me, and I want to thank everyone for that," he commented.

In cases of strokes, neurological impairments are unfortunately very common, so it was likely that if Lawler had had a few days of not recognizing his loved ones, there might have been concerns about some neuronal damage. Additionally, Lawler's vision was also greatly affected, to the point where he didn't recognize his own home when he returned from the hospital.

This episode marks the third stroke suffered by the Memphis native in 7 years, adding to one in 2018 and another in 2023. Hopefully, the former wrestler manages to overcome this setback once again.
