Live Report of NXT Homecoming

NXT Homecoming begins on Netflix!

We see a promotional video of the beginnings of NXT at Full Sail University, where great superstars like Sami Zayn, Bayley, Asuka, Finn Bálor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Charlotte Flair, and many others passed through.

The show starts with the classic Black & Gold era introductory video with the current talent of the brand.

Triple H is the one to open the show. The fans welcome him with a great ovation. The WWE Content Chief heads to the ring. "Triple H, Triple H!" chant the fans. "I can't describe to you how good it feels to be back home," he says. "Welcome home!" chants the audience. Triple H recalls the importance of this place for every talent that has been part of the history of this brand. Triple H assures that they are all special, just like the fans, both those present and those at home. They are the reason why NXT exists and is stronger than ever. "All of you took something that started as a whisper - a very small, quiet one - and turned it into an undeniable roar," says Triple H. It is the passion of the fans that allowed NXT to take control. It was the fans who drove the brand into the future with the cry of "We Are NXT". That's why he is grateful to them.

Shawn Michaels appears on the scene!

The fans welcome him warmly. Michaels is glad to have Triple H back home, especially knowing that his friend is too busy signing million-dollar contracts and generating income for the company. That said, Shawn assures him that he and his NXT guys are ready to steer this ship. Triple H knows that's true, "Thank you, Shawn!" chant the fans. Triple H thanks him for that but, what if he said he wants to come back? Shawn hoped this wouldn't happen, but if Triple H really wants to come back to NXT, then they would have a problem. HBK faces off with HHH.

William Regal bursts onto the scene!

Regal watches both men from the entrance ramp. "Please, gentlemen. I know how to solve this. There's only one way," says the Brit. Several fans shout "WarGames!". Regal asks them not to get ahead of themselves and suggests to production to remove those comments. That said, he addresses Triple H and Shawn Michaels again. "WAR GAMES!," he exclaims. The Brit smiles. Meanwhile, Triple H and Shawn Michaels don't know how to react.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss interrupt the segment!

"Welcome home!", chant the fans. Charlotte addresses Triple H and Shawn Michaels, pointing out that it doesn't matter who's in charge, because it's the women who have always really been in charge at NXT. Charlotte recalls that the women's revolution started here with The Four Horsewomen, Paige, Asuka, Carmella, Ember Moon, and many others. But they don't have time to name them all, as they have a match to compete in next. "In my opinion, women have always been the backbone of NXT, and that will never change. And if you don't agree with that, we have two words for you," says Bliss. "SUCK IT," chant the fans. And so we reach the end of the first segment of the night.

We see The Culling in full backstage as they head towards the ring. Lyra Valkyria appears on the scene, reuniting with Tatum Paxley. Smiling, they embrace. Annoyed, Izzi Dame pushes her partner away, reminding her that she needs to focus on their match tonight.

However, Paxley receives her with her knees to then cover her by supporting her legs on the second rope. 1..2..NO.

Tatum hits Charlotte, causing her to enter the ring. The referee orders her to return to her corner. After that, she finishes her off with a Sister Abigail. 1..2..3.

Winners and STILL WWE Women's Tag Team Champions: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss

Sol Ruca and Zaria discuss what happened last week. Ruca assures her partner that she couldn't do anything to interrupt her Sol Snatcher, and that it was an unfortunate accident. Lainey Reid appears on the scene to recommend to Ruca that she focus more on her next title defense, as her WWE Speed Championship will soon be in her hands. Candice LeRae joins the conversation to mock Reid and her innocence for believing she can beat her next week. That said, she asks Sol to keep the title shining for when she has to hand it over. Shayna Baszler appears on the scene, causing LeRae and Reid to leave immediately. "The Queen of Spades" reminds ZaRuca that she too has been a champion in NXT. In fact, she has one of the longest reigns in history. She has even had partners with whom she has held the tag team championships. And that's why... Shayna is left speechless. "Apologize. Fix this, and you can have everything you want, okay?," says Baszler before leaving. "Are we good?," Sol asks Zaria. "Yes, we're good," the Australian replies. And so we reach the end of this segment.

The Miz shakes Trick's hand before raising Carmelo's arm on the entrance ramp. "Melo Don't Miz!," he exclaims as Carmelo's theme music resonates in the arena.

Kelly Kincaid interviews Sami Zayn backstage, asking him how he feels about returning to Full Sail University. The Canadian admits he is excited and that there are many memories flooding his mind since he arrived at the venue. He also feels that there is a lot of potential in the current NXT roster. Kincaid asks him if he's thinking about someone in particular. Zayn responds that he is. It's Je'Von Evans, who reminds him of himself. Sami believes he has great talent, and hopes that Ava sees him the same way. Josh Briggs interrupts the interview to ensure that Ava and Zayn are wrong about Je'Von, and that focusing on him is just a waste of time. Suddenly, Evans bursts onto the scene to attack Briggs. Several security guards come to take Josh away. Je'Von tries to go after them, but Sami stops him. Zayn advises Evans to forget about Briggs and listen to him. Sami points out that Je'Von has something that can't be taught: he has heart, as well as a bright future. People like them don't have it easy, but it's also true that for them, the sky's the limit. "The sky's the limit for you!," exclaims the Canadian. "Good luck with everything," he adds as he shakes his hand. Sami leaves to end this segment.

Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion: Ethan Page

Page raises his championship near the ropes while locking eyes with El Hijo del Dr. Wagner, who also raises his AAA title.

We see Tavion Heights in the locker room, upset with the outcome of the match. "Of course Ethan gets away with it again," he says. "I know exactly who can take him down," replies a voice. It’s Damian Priest, who approaches Heights. The Puerto Rican star says he’s been following his journey closely and is convinced that he’s about to reach the next level. Damian recalls how his match against Finn Bálor at NXT In Your House was that moment for him. And he knows Heights will find his own. In fact, he’s so sure of it that he took the liberty of speaking to Ava to get him a shot at the North American Championship at NXT No Mercy. Tavion thanks him and promises not to waste the opportunity. Priest knows he won’t. With that said, he invites him to come ask for advice anytime. Heights replies that he has a lot of questions. They continue talking as the segment comes to an end.

"The Grayson Waller Effect"

Grayson Waller welcomes us to his talk show. Waller admits he's never been at Full Sail before, but it doesn’t matter, because NXT wasn’t relevant until he showed up. With that, he introduces his guests: Oba Femi and Ricky Saints, who take their seats on the set. Grayson asks who will win the NXT title at No Mercy: the overrated Oba Femi or Ricky “Soft”?

Oba addresses Waller's "puppet," noting that tonight he’ll let his peculiar sense of humor slide. He then turns to Saints and makes it clear that he doesn’t see anything special in him—no matter how much “The Absolute” has acted like it since arriving in NXT. That’s why he can’t help but feel a little disappointed. Unlike him, who lives, sleeps, and breathes for the NXT Championship, Saints only seems to be passing through the brand while he waits for a main roster call-up. "So at No Mercy, I’ll show you the door—and you can take all the bags you want, but you won’t be taking this title", says “The Ruler.”

Saints says Oba doesn’t know his story. Ricky recalls that Femi was recruited by WWE while the Nigerian was still in college. "You act like you’ve got the heart of a warrior, but you’re just a spoiled athlete", says Saints. He, on the other hand, took a chance at a tryout. It was eight years ago. He gave everything he had during the three-day trial, only to receive an automated email informing him he hadn’t been selected. That made him realize it doesn’t matter how much you plan things—because this business works the way it works. But it *does* work! He’s proof of that. In these past years, he gave it all outside WWE until he finally made it. "This means everything to me! And at No Mercy, I will NOT be denied! I WILL become NXT Champion because I am Absolute, Ricky Freakin Saints!", he declares.

Trick Williams interrupts the segment to make it clear that he couldn’t care less about what’s going on between the two men. Williams reminds Oba that he has something he wants back: the NXT Championship. As for Saints, he’s disliked him since the day he arrived. He also advises him to step aside when real men are talking. "The only reason you’re here is because Trick and Oba made NXT relevant again," he declares.

Grayson speaks up to propose a big idea to Ava. The Australian suggests that Oba and Trick face each other next week in a title vs. title match, where the winner takes all. And that NXT and TNA double champion will then put all the gold on the line against Saints at No Mercy. Waller insists he can make the match happen because he’s got major backstage pull. Trick and Oba accept the challenge. "I can already see the entire TNA fanbase crying online. 'He needs to come home!'" says Grayson, mocking TNA Wrestling talent. Oba approaches the Australian, snatches the mic from his hand, and slams it to the mat. "Trick, next week I’m going to beat you and take the TNA Championship," promises "The Ruler". "And at No Mercy, I’ll successfully defend both titles against you and send you off in disgrace," he says to Saints. "That’s what Oba Femi predicts," says the Nigerian before throwing the mic to the mat. "The Ruler" raises the NXT Championship as the segment comes to a close.

Charlie Dempsey is seen talking with Wren Sinclair backstage. Sinclair has several ideas to relaunch No Quarter Catch Crew. Dempsey informs her that he’s heading to Japan for a month and expects her to take care of everything until he returns as a new man. Bobby Roode enters the scene. Wren gets excited and asks the former NXT Champion to "do his thing" one more time. Roode stretches out his arms. "GLORIOUS!" echoes through the room. Charlie doesn’t understand why his teammate is so into these things—just like she is with Joe Hendry. "Say his name and he appears." The Scotsman shows up out of nowhere after being mentioned. Roode approaches Hendry and tells him that seeing him with the TNA Championship at WrestleMania was glorious. Now, he believes Hendry should focus on another title: the NXT Championship. When that day comes, he wants him to know that he’ll be cheering him on. Hendry appreciates hearing such words from someone of Roode’s caliber. They shake hands. Bobby wishes him luck before they walk away. "Wren, for the love of God, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do while I’m gone," says Charlie. "Yeah, yeah," Sinclair replies, clearly not paying attention. And so this segment ends.

Lexis King makes his entrance. The wrestler says there's no one better than him to host this special NXT episode, as he is the heart and soul of the brand—its face. With that said, he wants to express an unpopular opinion: the Black & Gold era is overrated. And as much as fans love that period, the truth is that those talents don’t care about NXT fans anymore—they’ve moved on with their lives. Not like him, who, despite being a star on the brand, has become the target of Myles Borne, who attacked him like a coward last week—with a steel chair, under the cover of darkness. That’s why he’s convinced Ava to schedule a "Lights Out Match" against Borne for next week. At that moment, the lights go out.

Finn Bálor appears with his classic theme!

The fans give him a huge ovation. The Irishman takes position on one of the turnbuckles. From there, he points his fingers directly at Lexis. King becomes aware of Myles Borne’s presence behind him. King tries to strike, but Myles counters. Borne takes Lexis down, and Bálor finishes him with a Coup de Grace. Finn and Myles celebrate as the segment comes to an end.

Kelly Kincaid interviews DarkState, who had a tough time last week defending their NXT Tag Team Championships. Saquon Shugars says the only thing that matters is that the gold is still in their hands. Dion Lennox reminds Kincaid that they’ll take down anyone who stands in their way. Montez Ford interrupts the interview. Osiris Griffin asks if he’s here to say he has a problem with them. Ford assures him he’s not. It’s just that seeing those titles brings back a lot of memories. Ford advises them to be mindful of the target on their backs before walking away.

Bianca Belair is shown sitting in the front row.

Tag Team Match
Stephanie Vaquer, Rhea Ripley & Lyra Valkyria vs. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx)

Fatal Influence attack their opponents during the entrance. Jacy knocks Rhea off the apron and hits a cannonball on her. Then she slams her into the ring post. Vaquer remains in the ring to face Fallon and Jazmyn. The referee calls for the bell. Nyx takes down the Chilean so Fallon can hit her with a punch. Jacy finishes her off with a senton.

Jayne surprises Stephanie with a hurricanrana. The Chilean responds with a dropkick. Lyra tags in and goes on the offensive against all her rivals. Rhea returns to join her partners. Together, they send Jacy and Fallon to the outside. Ripley catches Jazmyn and hits a Razor's Edge. Nyx lands on her teammates on the entrance ramp.

Valkyria brings Jacy back into the ring to continue the fight. Jayne surprises the Irishwoman with a superkick. Fatal Influence regain control, wearing down Lyra in their corner. Jacy delivers a cannonball. 1..2..NO. Valkyria tries to break free, but Jayne takes her down with several knee strikes. Jacy throws her back into the corner and tags in Jazmyn.

Nyx applies a Fisherman’s Suplex Hold on Valkyria. Without letting go, she transitions into a headlock. Jazmyn kicks the Irishwoman. 1..2..NO. Fallon and Jazmyn team up on Lyra, hitting a double spinning neckbreaker. Jayne follows up with a knee strike. 1..2..NO. Jacy and Lyra struggle, with the latter surprising the NXT Champion with a sit-out powerbomb. Both women are down. Jayne and Valkyria crawl to their corners and tag in Jazmyn and Vaquer.

Stephanie enters full force, taking on all three opponents at once. "The Dark Angel" hits two running meteoras on Fallon and Jazmyn. Jayne prevents Vaquer from hitting her finisher on Nyx. Jazmyn and Henley team up against "La Primera". Fallon assists her partner to deliver a Pelé Kick to the Chilean. Fallon covers her. 1..2..NO. Stephanie escapes her opponents and tags in Rhea.

The Australian storms in, hitting all three opponents with powerful strikes. Ripley hits a Fallaway Slam on Jayne before setting her up for a Razor's Edge, but Fallon saves her partner. Stephanie and Rhea knock them both out. Jazmyn tries to intervene, but Valkyria sends her flying. The Irishwoman hits a rope dropkick on Nyx.

Meanwhile, Stephanie and Rhea grab Fallon and Jayne to hit a double Devil’s Kiss. "Ah, ah, ah, ah!" the fans chant. Vaquer keeps attacking Fallon at ringside. Jacy tries to walk out of the match. However, Lola Vice blocks her path, forcing her to go back. Jayne stops at the ropes, seemingly with no intention to return. Tired of waiting, Vice knocks her out with a back fist. Rhea grabs Jacy and hits a final Riptide in the center of the ring. 1..2..3.

Winners: Stephanie Vaquer, Rhea Ripley, and Lyra Valkyria.

Vaquer, Valkyria, Ripley, and Vice celebrate in the ring while Jayne, Nyx, and Henley remain on the floor in front of the commentary table.

We go backstage, where we see Oba Femi and Trick Williams face to face. Behind them are Ava, William Regal, Mr. Stone, and Stevie Turner. Ava looks at her smartphone, acknowledging that TNA has a lot to say about this match. Regal understands the situation the General Manager is in and admits he wouldn’t want to be in her place right now. "May the best man win," says Femi. "He will," Trick replies. And with that, NXT Homecoming comes to an end.
