Cody Rhodes is one of the biggest stars of WWE currently and also a wrestler with great business vision. During an interview with ESPN, he was asked if he would like to lead the company in the future, once Triple H retires. Rhodes confessed that initially he thought he would be the natural candidate, but now he perceives some competition for that position.

"I think there is starting to be a fight for it. And I didn't see it at first. I thought, obviously, I was the best candidate. I don't know if I really am, but I do want to run the place. I felt like I had some experience and that it would interest me," he explained.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins, among possible successors

Rhodes highlighted that CM Punk has a great talent for helping develop the new generations, which could make him an excellent leader. He also pointed out that Seth Rollins, despite being tougher in his approach, would be a great boss when the time comes. Additionally, he mentioned that figures like Bayley and Roman Reigns will always have a voice in the company.

Punk is really good at helping young talents. He probably has more skill than anyone. Seth is a bit rougher, but he would probably be an exceptional boss. I would love for them to consider my name. I don't know if I'm ready yet, but I like that we are in the conversation.

A future that still seems distant

Rhodes added that WWE currently has a veteran roster and that, sooner or later, strong leaders capable of going beyond just booking matches will be needed. He also took the opportunity to praise Triple H's current management and expressed gratitude that the Game continues to lead the company for quite some time.

For now, Cody Rhodes remains focused on his in-ring career and on learning as much as possible, while Triple H continues to lead the stories and business of WWE. This Sunday, at Wrestlepalooza, he has a new appointment with the fans when he puts the WWE Undisputed Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre.
