Andrade has already confirmed his first commitment after his departure from WWE. The promoter The Crash announced that the former WWE and AEW wrestler will be part of their event on Friday, October 3rd at the Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno Auditorium in Tijuana, Mexico.
At the moment, it has not been revealed who will be Andrade's opponent in that function, but the news officially marks the beginning of his independent schedule after the abrupt end of his second cycle in WWE. According to Dave Meltzer, the Mexican's departure was due to a "disciplinary issue" not related to drugs, alcohol, or personal matters, although there have been many conflicting reports in the last few hours regarding this.
Since his departure became known, Andrade has posted brief messages on social media thanking the company, as well as engaging in exchanges with MJF, hinting at a possible confrontation between them in CMLL.
Andrade's career has had its highlights: he arrived in WWE in 2015, where he stayed until March 2021. After requesting his release, he joined AEW in June of that same year, where he worked until December 2023, when his contract expired. In January 2024, he returned to WWE during the celebration of the men's Royal Rumble Match, but his second stint recently concluded with another release.
Andrade's return to The Crash is not unfamiliar territory. Before his time in WWE, the wrestler from Guadalajara had already worked in that promotion and other Mexican independent companies after leaving CMLL. Now, after establishing himself as an international star in WWE and AEW, he returns to Mexico with a different status: that of a seasoned wrestler who can headline any card he's on.
His past as La Sombra in CMLL, where he was a key figure in the creation of Los Ingobernables, opens the door to a return full of symbolism if he decides to go back to Arena Mexico. At the same time, The Crash offers him an immediate showcase to shine in front of the local audience and face off against international opponents. In this new stage, Andrade has the opportunity to revalue himself in his country, strengthen his legacy, and, at the same time, project himself towards future challenges in American or Japanese scenarios.
