WWE trusts Becky Lynch to lead the return of major legends

AJ Lee returned to action after more than a decade since her last match. And she did it by teaming up with CM Punk to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a mixed tag team match at WWE Wrestlepalooza. The match was highly praised by fans and the company itself, who agreed on the great job done by "The Man" to make everything work out well.

However, it is no coincidence that Lynch has faced wrestlers who were returning from a long period of inactivity. All of them specifically requested to work with the Irishwoman due to her ability to guide matches. This was explained by the specialized media outlet Fightful in its most recent report.

"Becky Lynch teamed up with Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and AJ Lee in AJ Lee's first match in over a decade, and the longest match of AJ's career. WWE sources we spoke to said they felt the match went well, and a lot of credit was specifically given to Becky Lynch for helping guide AJ Lee after ten years of absence. This has become one of Becky's trademarks," the outlet wrote.

"Several WWE sources, including members of the roster, quickly pointed out that this is something Becky Lynch has been doing for years, and highlighted that by now she has specialized in it. From her match with Lita at Elimination Chamber 2022, through the rivalry with Trish Stratus in 2023, to her bout with Nikki Bella at Clash in Paris this year. Sources within the company affirm that Becky Lynch has always seen this as a welcomed challenge, and the company trusts her to excel in these kinds of situations."

This level of specialization has made Becky a reference in the locker room and one of the most sought-after women to share the ring with. "We have been told that the level has reached a point where several returning female wrestlers have specifically requested to work with Becky Lynch," Fightful wrote on the matter.

It is worth noting that AJ Lee forced Lynch to submit at Wrestlepalooza, which could lead both of them to a showdown for the Women's Intercontinental Championship. Lee held the title for several days after the Irishwoman fled from her upon her return. If the story continues to evolve naturally, there is a possibility that AJ Lee will once again hold the gold, this time as a legitimate champion.
