Jazmyn Nyx has been in the news in the last few hours after several media outlets reported that the wrestler will not continue in WWE. Last night, Nyx was attacked backstage and subsequently "expelled" from Fatal Influence, marking the end of her story in NXT. Now, the wrestler has wanted to personally explain the reasons for her departure through a video shared on her TikTok channel.
"As you already know, some things have been circulating and I want to set the record straight: I am not going to renew with WWE. This was a personal decision that I had to make for myself and my future, on a personal level. The contract they offered me for the next three years simply wasn't enough for me economically, and that's okay," she said.
"I wanted to tell a bit of my story. I was playing professional soccer in Iceland, and then I was recruited to WWE, so I left everything there to come here and take advantage of this opportunity, for which I am very grateful," she continued. "At first, I felt a bit limited. I had four knee surgeries, so I had to recover and rebuild my knees before I could get in the ring...
I broke my nose, that's why I wore the mask. I also suffered other injuries, concussions, which kept me off television for a while. Let's say there were many opportunities that I had to reject and let go, but now that I am unemployed, I can explore them and take them more seriously."
"I love my fans. Thank you so much for supporting me and being by my side during these last three years. It has been an incredible journey and I will miss you. And yes, this is it for Jazmyn Nyx. So thank you for watching this and I love you all very much," she concluded.
Jazmyn Nyx started her professional career as a footballer, but soon left it to sign a developmental contract with WWE in 2022. As is usual in these cases, Nyx debuted in non-televised live events before making the leap to the company's television programming.
Fans could see her on television as part of the Chase U student body. There she was recruited by Jacy Jayne to later form Fatal Influence alongside Fallon Henley. It was at this moment when Nyx had a greater prominence. However, in recent weeks, the faction had experienced some internal problems that finally culminated yesterday with Jazmyn's official departure from the team and the company.
At the moment, it is unknown when her contract will officially expire. Once it happens, Nyx will be able to work for any company without being subject to any non-compete clause. However, based on her statements, it seems that Jazmyn has concluded her experience in professional wrestling.
